I'd advise upgrading to newer firmware to 'rebuild' anything that might caused the problem.

Anyone tried CFW 3.93 by Mathieulth?

QUOTE
While waiting for the next custom firmware coming from Dark AleX and Team M33, there's one based on the official Sony PlayStation Portable firmware 3.93 that surfaced which appears to be a functional alternative. Only known as CFW 3.93, it's said to be rooted in M33's work and gives credit to usual CFW contributors.

To kick things off, here's the changelog provided for CFW 3.93

* Uses the 3.93 kernel
* Implented all the original custom firmware features.
* Ability to use the normal recovery inside the XMB by pressing the HOME button:
o When in the recovery, the system is suspended, and you can change all options directly.
o All options work immediatly, there is no need to reboot (even the Slim's USB charging option)
o Ability to make a Pandora battery from the recovery, read and restore the EEPROM, etc. Providing that the motherboard supports it.
* Ability to hide the MAC adress in System Information, if you do so, the MAC will show visually as all 0's.
* Ability to save the savegames in normal format, rather then encrypted (only functions in March33 and Sony NP9960 mode).
* The native 3.93 pops isn't as good as the previous pops, therefor I hope the popsloader will get updated to support 3.93.

We're yet to get a hold of any confirmation pertaining to who made this particular custom firmware, but Dark AleX and Team M33 received recognition together with Hellcat's Saveplain plug-in. Mathieulh also supposedly agreed to publish this CFW 3.93.

Look under My Computer for a new removable storage device. It uses generic USB mass storage driver and will be detected automatically in recent OSes.. unless you are using win98..

Homebrew developer Nefarious has released a new custom firmware plugin dubbed “Cross Extended,” which displays detailed system information to users regarding their PSP. As shown in the above screen capture, information covered includes the motherboard type, battery voltage, and installed plugin modules.

Once installed, the plugin can be accessed while running a game or in the XMB. Additionally, it is possible to take a screenshot of the system information screen by pressing Note + R. Further details and installation instructions can be found in the included readme file.

erm, how do we install homebrew softwares ? .. also will using homebrew software causes our psp to brick ?..
*
no bricking risk at all unless if you touch the flash0 or other NAND partitions
normally homebrew apps & plugins only reside on the memory stick so no bricking involved

a) homebrew apps (eboot.pbp) -> x:/PSP/GAME/anyname/eboot.pbp

b) plugins (.prx):
-i) x:/SEPLUGINS/example.prx
-ii) add the reference to the plugin in x:/SEPLUGINS/vsh.txt
-iii) enable the plugin in recovery menu

erm...
where is the flash0 and NAND partition you are saying ? .. how to touch it ? ~

er what is the a) part for ?? ... usually what format does those homebrew comes with ? .. plugins ? one m,ore thing .. where is recovery menu ..
*
Homebrew stuff have 2 formats: apps or plugins

To access recovery menu, turn off the PSP completely (not sleep mode), then hold the R trigger and at the same time turn on the PSP. At the recovery menu, you can change the USB mode to flash0. By default, the USB mode is ms0 / we read/write to ms0 (memory stick) when connected to USB. NAND partitions in PSP are flash0 1 2 3 etc (to store firmware/setting/DRMinfo/etc) .

Semi-brick unbricker (Access from recovery menu)

================================================== =====
* recover semi-bricks * up-/downgrade your CFW *
* flash *ANY* CFW directely to 3.71-M33 *
all without Pandora
================================================== =====
- Flashes a fresh 3.71-M33 - for recovering semi-bricks or to
up-/downgrade CFW
- does not use Pandora, runns from the recovery menu or the XMB
- does not use (as in launch) the original Sony Updater (only extracts
all required files from the original .PBP)
- runns fine on CFWs lower than 3.52-M33-3 - handy for upgrading older
FWs w/o the "need to go 3.52, then 3.52-3, then higher" odyssey
- runns fine from TimeMachine (3.40-OE on Fat and 3.60-M33 on Slim)
- can backup the FW flash and restore selected parts (XMB theme,
settings, PSN activation)
