try rabbit dry shampoo (powder form).. rub some powder into their feet, then wipe off the powder. make sure you remove the powder completely.

but pee stains are very stubborn and hard to remove. the best bet will be just to wait for the dirty fur to fall out over time.

I got that shampoo from Pet Lover's Centre, so you should be able to get it from PLC Sg. Besides, I think kool bunny is a SGporean brand, if not mistaken

what kind of nut bar is this? whats the nutritional contents?

its not advisable to give such treats to rabbits, if you want to give them treats, stick to natural, healthier sources like fruits.

not sure, but i bought it from the pet shop.
it say got wood in the middle for the bunnies to clean their teeth wor.

my bunnies all very picky de.
they don like fruit except bananas.
as for vege, they only eat brocolli. i don know why.
they finish it fast but other vege, they touch and munch a bit then don bother it liaw.

seems like you have some really health conscious rabbits there lol! let them be, a rabbit's diet should consist mainly of hay (lots of it!), supplemented by pellets and vege. if they don't get treats, no problem there.. even better for them smile.gif

Thanx for the info..  i will look for it for my bunnies...
I don't really use it tho.. come to think of it, i've only used it once after i bought it. the bunnies are quite good at keeping themselves clean tongue.gif

rabbits don't need nutritional supplements, like calcium blocks. in fact, too much calcium is not good for them - leads to bladder sludge and kidney issues

dont give vege yet. wait til the rabbit is at least 3mths old before giving vege. when u start to give vege, feed a little amount first, and monitor ur rabbit to see if it has soft stool... if not, u can continue to increase the vege amount slowly.

if your rabbit gets soft stool from vege, then stop feeding that vege immediately. later on, you can try a different type of vege to see if its more suitable for your rabbit's tummy

btw, why are you not able to feed pellets?

it is true that rabbits can survive only on hay and water, but the hay must be very high quality hay. otherwise, the rabbit will be malnourished. on top of that, your rabbit is still growing. it is better to give pellets at this stage to provide him/her with the protein & calcium that it needs to grow. what kind of hay are you feeding now?

you can cut down on pellets after your rabbit reaches adulthood.

vege, although nutritious, we have to remember that different vege contain different nutrients. in order to give your rabbit a balanced diet mainly from vege, you will need a LOT of varieties and big quantities as well. difficult to do, unless you enjoy studying the nutritional contents of each type of vege tongue.gif

as stalkie said, best to stick to a balanced diet. most importantly, lots of hay. supplement that with pellets, and then vege when the rabbit is older.

hi .. is there anybody knows about butterfly rabbit..i bought it from mid valley last few days..n i found out this type of rabbit is difficult to c in d internet. xtually im looking for a male rabbit and wish to buy a same type of rabbit. i have problem to put my rabbit. i live in a condominium that has no balcony.i need to put my rabbit in the house but im worry she cant adapt with d temperature. Can someone show me the correct way to adopt a rabbit in d house? any comment will b appreciated. biggrin.gif

butterfly is not a breed, its just a term to refer to the rabbit's markings. butterfly rabbits are broken in colour, that means white, with coloured spots. usually, there will be a patch of colour on the nose area which kinda resembles a butterfly (but thats not always the case). 'broken' is the term used in US, while 'butterfly' is the term used in UK. means the same thing.

yea mine did that too when i gave them a box of hay to dig in.. i think the hay reminded them of their litter box, cos they have hay in their litter box too. and when i swapped the hay with shredded paper, they still peed in the box.

maybe you can give luli the box to dig in, once he's done for the day, put the box away until the next digging session smile.gif

BEBEE,
I'm also looking for a grid panel to setup a cluster condo for my 4 bunnies. What an achievement if i can build a 3 storey condo and provide their own private access and private playpen. So it will looks like they're living in 1 gigantic condo, but actually separsted from each others. I asked the cage supplier last week. He said that they dont have any grid panels size 1'x1'. They only have playpen fence panel. And they dunno where to find them. But my bf knows a metal smith (foundry) and he'll ask that man if that man can customs the panels for us. Plus, now i'm still designing a big cage for my chipmunks and squirrels. And hope after finishing this project, i can soon start the rabbits condo biggrin.gif.

The Carrefour grid shelves are contained 18 pcs grid panels (1'x1' sized) and 8 pcs solid panels. RM159 for promotion price. If not promo, they're more expensive. To make a comfortable NIC condo, at least we shud have 30pcs of grid panels. I try to get RM6 or lower price per panel. But to custom and to get cheaper, we need more people to order. My target is  200pcs in total order.

Design our condo first, then decide how many panels we need. What is ur target price per panel, guys? I'll try to nego with the foundry man. Bebee can collect herself once she go to Penang. Or people from KL can ask Bebee's help to get theirs.

SANGTERAP, how much u spent for ur apartment? Not included the cage...

11JAN, i envy Button & Yohji's tunnel. Still looking for it in Penang, but they only have folded cat's tunnel. (pricey, but not worth the material) I'm looking for a hard base tunnel. What is the material inside ur bunnies tunnel? Is it made from hard board? Can it be chew?

hmm.. i'd love to help with the grid panels order (quantity-wise), but i'm afraid i don't need them as i dont use cages. but if i ever go back to pg, i can help to bring some back to kl for the kl ppl (but i don't go back to pg very often now, cos i have the bunnies to take care of haha)

the tunnel is furry, kinda like a carpet but with longer strands of fabric. the inside is also furry, but since the ends are kinda soft, i put a roll of cardboard inside to hold it up. the bunnies like to chew on the cardboard, but they don't sleep in the tunnel. maybe too warm.

actually, i think i'd prefer a canvas tunnel, easier to clean. i'll probably have to send this tunnel for dry cleaning haha can't imagine what the laundry ppl are gonna say!

if he's not losing weight, stick to timothy-based pellets. if he is losing weight (and its not due to other illness) then change to alfalfa-based pellets. right now, in the msian market, i find oxbow pellets to have the best nutritional contents.

as for his fur dropping, is he just molting?

besides cable ties (which my rabbits have destroyed tons of), go to the hardware shops and check out metal binders and clips. those will be much sturdier smile.gif

Not really sure about whether he's molting or dropping fur. He seems to have some patches on his skin with very little fur @_@

how long have those spots been hair-less? if its just a while, wait and see if it grows back.. could be he is just molting. as long as the skin is clear and you don't see dandruff/flakes, that should be fine

you can use treats to lure ur rabbit back to its cage every nite, but if u do so, then just cut the treat into smaller pieces.

dogs and cats easy to find sitter.

i've checked out a few animal 'hotels' here, they take in rabbits, but i dont like the environment cos they put the rabbits near the dogs (altho in diff rooms, but its still damn noisy when the dogs bark, the poor rabbits look so petrified there, summore can charge rm20/day for that!!).. and also the problem with parasites... don't want my rabbit to come back home with mites
