nicoty_yne,
Can u put pix how u place ur abbit indoor..
can anyone pls put how they kept their rabbit..
*
i let my rabbit run outside in her playpen in the daytime when i go to work, then when i come back i let her run around the garden. at night i put her in the cage and bring it inside. morning wake up then do the same routine. she doesn't pee much at night, maybe once only so it's not very smelly. the poo not much smell at all.

lol bambi has finally gotten used to the 2nd floor, but she doesn't climb up the ramp, she's having fun jumping up and down and making loud thumping sounds at the same time when she lands.

lol, does that keep you up at night?? my buns make a lot of noise at night too, ripping boxes apart, zooming around the living room and crashing into things, pushing their igloo around.. that igloo really makes a lot of noise! it sounds like someone's dragging furniture across the room tongue.gif
*
wah luckily i let bambi sleep in the cage, nope she's pretty silent at night if she's at the living room. she'll sit/sleep silently on the litter tray. this evening she just started jumping around the cage so hopefully she won't keep doing it when we've gone to bed. currently she's silent though tongue.gif

I have a question..
Does the growth of HL rabbit and anggora are the same?
I'm asking becos my angora grow bigger and fatter faster than the HL rabbit.
I put them in separate cage, and give them eat and drink same thing everyday.. but i notice dat the angora bigger faster than HL..
*
angora is a bigger breed than HL if i'm not mistaken, of course it'll grow faster lol.

Ala.... in apartment je...

Wait till you have to chase a bunny who has an entire garden to run around... or hide in burrows... under the hot sun.

That is real exercise.

smile.gif
*
yeah tell me about it rclxub.gif somore got cars that she can go under, pots of plants to hide in between then she'll sit there and there's no way to get her to come out unless you budge with a stick, that way oso she still won't move sigh. luckily bambi doesn't like to dig or jump, just run around haha, and i let her be the whole day until at night then bring her in. so i don't have the hot sun to complain, but LOTS of mosquitoes. ergh.. good for my fighting fish la, but i can't be smacking mosquitoes and chasing bambi into her cage at the same time doh.gif

Same here. My rabbits used to hide under car lah, this lah, that lah, cabinet and whatever not. So my father build barricades to where they can and cannot go. But even that didn't stop my rabbits... well now only 1 left, from finding ways to overcome the barrier.
Yep, I lure mine out with fruit peels. They love it.

kenji_britney, try not to use stick if you can help it... it scares them and sometimes you're just going to end up startling them and accidentally chase them into another hiding hole. Use gentle coaxing, stroking or luring with treats.
*
too far to stroke her leh lol and she doesn't get startled cause i slowly bring the stick near, she'll just see it and won't budge either. next time will try treats but she also gets distracted quite easily wan.. see how la lol.

I just bought the rabbit cage. They seem to enjoy it.
The cage was bought today and i set it up this morning.
They seem to like it too happy.gif.
Carpet PEED on the spot nearest to the food (to mark his territory)..... as always sleep.gif.
No wonder Carpet seems WAYYY fatter compared to Marble.

By the way, does anyone know when Marble's other ear will flop?
She's only 7 weeks old for now. As can be seen from the picture, only 1 of its ear is flopped.
*
wah very cute!! your hay 'ball' very yeng. the first pic so funny, cover marble's head haha. i think the cage a bit small for 2 of the tho, just my opinion.
poor carpet kena pancaked from marble lol.

marble looks cute with 1 ear flopped now actually.

Hmmm so it will take a while for the ear to lop eh?
That's ok, it just looks very uneven at the moment

With regards to pregnant, that's alright XD
My elder sis says that she wants one of the child for herself.
What's the max baby bunnies that a rabbit could give birth to anyways?
*
i think it's 4-6 ah? hmm speaking of pregnancies, is it ok for rabbits to be pregnant during first heat ar? i see most animals are not advisable to be pregnant during first heat cause can be problematic for the mother.

QUOTE(Stalvros @ Jun 19 2008, 04:12 PM)
Lol, not to worry 11Jan.
I've already thought of those things before happy.gif.

With regards of separating, my balcony has enough space for it.
With regards to babies, each of my siblings and cousins wants one.
And i have like a lot of cousins sad.gif
They're very good owners too happy.gif.
(Dont worry, i dont plan to make marble pregnant 12 times a year hahaha)

The only thing that i am unsure of would be just the process at the moment.
So i'll just separate them for now. I'll have a read up on it first.

Added on June 19, 2008, 4:20 pmSo weird though,
at the moment marble just doesn't want to be separated from carpet at all!

Like, it will try to jump and scratch here and there.
It will even SHRIEK and make some funny high pitched noise when separated sleep.gif. I just can't stand the noise at all so i put them back together~

When we got them, they were in 1 container.
Maybe they're too used being with each other sleep.gif (soul mate?)
Carpet wont shriek but will wander around and wont relax at all when separated (Won't even touch his food which is VERY RARE in his case)
*
http://www.rabbit.org/behavior/body-language.html

hmm it says Shrill scream — Hurt or dying but it is a different case for you. i guess it'll be quite hard to separate them both, maybe slowly do it la, not so suddenly split them up. like let's say start of by not letting them play together at the garden?

hahahaha yeah ill try
my initial plan is actually to separate them BUT beside each other.
(Something like how you separate fighting / betta fishes but you dont put anything in the middle to hinder their visual?)

That ALMOST work..........
until marble started shrieking again sleep.gif.
I think marble just wants carpet as a cushion as shown in the picture.
Marble does that A LOT of times. 2 days ago marble slept on top of carpet too.
*
lol i a bit kesian carpet la.. really treated as a carpet literally speaking haha. well maybe that separating idea can come later on and see if she will stop the shrieking. just do it slowly la, it can't happen overnight.
