hi, i would suggest u to flush out the pus everyday as it is the pus inside make daddy suffer in pain, after flushing out pat with warm water and put the antibiotic gel. during my time, the vet gave me iodin and it is very effective.....i believe with this daddy will be recovered fast.........this is what the vet told me to do ( i had been to two vet and both of them said the same thing). u might want to use a tower to wrap dabby up so that he would not struggle, expose only the lump part that u want to flush out the pus..........flushing out the pus really take time, i remember i need to do this twice a day for more than a week........really a bad experience........ shakehead.gif hope this will help and i really hope that daddy will be recovered very soon............ laugh.gif by the way, i brought my bunny to quite a good vet (Dr. Vijay) at SS17 subang jaya called the Healing Room Clinic.......... notworthy.gif

hi, i still think that if u r not confidence enough to flush out the pus, just let the vet do it. during my time, my anggora bunny was just one month plus and it was still very small in size, that was why very easy to handle......i believe yr daddy is older than that..........i am just worry about daddy if struggle too much, the possibility of breaking his bone is higher.......as bunny is very fragile........again, hope daddy will be ok..........i will pray for sweet little daddy smile.gif

i wanna ask u something, haritu my rabbit kene gigit(by my other rabbit) at her ears.. luka.. the vet told me to put some antiseptic..

but now, near to the wound, the ear macam mengembang and reddish, rabbit lain do not have the same prob..

is it usual for them to haf that? a healing process? cry.gif
*
hi, if yr rabbit is fighting, u need to separate them into different cage in order to avoid unnecessary injured. pertaining to the wound, if it is swollen and reddish, u need to check whether it forms up pus or not, those pus need to flush out in order for the wound to heal faster........... hmm.gif rabbit is very delicate and fragile, once they injured, it takes time to heal........... blush.gif

yup, separated them oready..

btw, how much does it usually cost to flush out the pus?

thanx for the reply
*
hi, the rate here (Selangor, Subang Jaya) is about RM50 which inclusive of medicine, consultation and flusing out of the pus. i am not sure at Sarawak, should be cheaper....... icon_rolleyes.gif

well, if u love yr rabbit, i think u should bring back to yr hometown and ask someone u trust to take care of it....so when u come back, u still can have yr rabbit. if u sell to someone, for me, i will be worrying how the others are going to treat my rabbit............i think yr rabbit some kind of a normal breed, but it is a very nice and adorable bun bun nod.gif

Oi SANGTERAP, u call it 'enjoyment'? It is not an enjoyment at all.. it's a POISON!! Make me dying la see all those cute pics of Little Hope... So clever la u offer Little Hope to JTL... Cuba offer sama Chin, Maghul, Bebee or me la kalau berani. Kita kidnap dan tak nak pulangkan balik. We will make u begging to death. Ha ha ha.....

MEILENG, i dunno how ur vet make a cut to the lump. But in Daddy's case, the vet make a small hole using the biggest needle he has in his clinic (around 2mm diameter). Then the vet will press the lump until his hand also shaking (he press too hard, i think). That's why he needs another 3 person to hold Daddy. Daddy will struggle during this process. In a few hours, the hole will dried up. So, is that means, if want to flush out the pus, i have to make the hole at the same spot again?

Daddy tried to clean the lump part this morning, and he accidently peeled off the scab (dried wound). So i was able to press that lump a bit and wipe out the pus. But i dont dare to press harder.

Daddy can be very quiet when i pat his head. So i can take a close look/ touch/ press with warm bottle at the lump when patting him. BUT I DONT DARE TO PRESS IT HARDER LAAAAA... Tak sampai hati pulak...!!!! cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif Kenapa i ni penakut sangat aaaaaaaa? Waaaaa cry.gif cry.gif cry.gif icon_question.gif
*
well, after a few times of flusing out the pus, u will get use to it and become more skillful in handling it. one problem about bunny is that they easily form up pus even a small cut........ wink.gif

hi, do u have any relative or fren in KL, u can ask them to buy and send to u.........i believe Ipoh also can get Hay right? as far as i am concern, hay is very, very, very important in the bunny diet. they can live without pellet, but not hay, just imagine, those rabbit in the wild eat hay or grass, there is no such thing call pellet for them ..........another reason to feed hay to yr bun bun is to prevent hair ball problem, do not estimate the hair ball blockage in the rabbit, it can caused them to death..... shakehead.gif

i already bring him to vet.. but he still get diarrhea..
i post a thread,but doesnt help much....
i bought him last week,n then i give them eat kangkung..only once..
the next morning he get diarrhea..then, i give them eat pllet  which the rabbit seller gave to me n then i bring him to vet..he become ok for a day then get diarrhea back..so me n my father drive to ipoh to buy alfafa hay so that he not  die, becos i think his stmach cant digest the pllet(in taiping there's no one sell alfafa hay). when i give them eat alfafa hay,he diarhea become worst n die the next morning. Whats make me confuse is, other HL and anggora just find and active but only he died.

hi, very sad for yr loss.........we all learn along the way, so that we can be a better and responsible pet owner.start from day one, we should do a proper research and read up on how to raise a bunny, the very basic things like, housing, diet and environment should be at our figure tips. u will be very surprise that a lot of the shop owner who sell bunny do not even know the very basic knowledge in raising bunny.........i believe when we brought bunny from breeder, a good breeder will never even asked u to feed them kangkong or veggie or carrots or whatsoever........i still remember when i first brought home my two sweeties one year ago, i was told that young bunny foods should be STRICTLY on pellets, hay and water, that is all.......even when they reach 6 months old, they still stick to the three item that i gave them, of course, as time go on, when i gain more knowledge and experience in raising bunny, i gradually reduce the pellet and give them unlimited hay.......until when they r about 8 months old, i just give them very small amount of carrot, pine apple juice and fruits such as apple.........i always remembered the vet told me once that bunny has the world most fussiest digestive system and do not simply give them food which we think is ok.....if we love our bunny, we should them the best and apparently, there are many good quality pellet and hay being sold in the market, so my advise to u is give yr bun bun good quality pellet and hay and a lot of water.........most importantly, let them out of the cage for one or two hour in order to explore, roam, play etc....like what djspinnet said before, happy bunny = long life bunny.....so folks, let give our bunny the best and love them like how we love ourself.......sorry, forgive me if i am a bit crazy for bunny............ rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif

ThankQ all..
I will do my best for the rabbit...
I think i need to by new HL to keep my left HL accmpny..
My left HL look very poor and not active and really comot.
I really dont want her to die...

When i ask the vet what coz of the diarrhea, the vet said maybe bcos the pellet is very keras..the old vet suggest me to giv them carrot and stop giv them pallet..  Apedaaa..i think vet in taiping pon has low knwledge about bunny la..
*
hi, i think there is no hurry for u to look for another HL for yr present HL. what yr HL need now is YOUR LOVE AND YOUR PROPER CARE......not so much of companionship..........bunny do not think like human and they will not die from loneliness instead will die of not being properly taken care of ........now since u know that diet play an important part in bunny, spend some time to look for good quality pellet and hay (in fact i am sure u know now who to order from) , give yr bun bun clean water everyday, change their bedding and clean their cage at least twice a week...... sometime, u will notice that yr bun bun like to pee and poo on their food and in this case, food that being soaked by their pee and poo will cause them diarrhea as well. shakehead.gif

besides, yr bun bun diarrhea can be caused by stress as well, check whether there is any dogs or cats around that come and disturb yr bun bun, or is the environment too hot, too cold, too humid or dirty.........or is yr bun bun being suddenly hold by u or yr family member........bun bun born to be a prey, they generally do not like to be hold and pls do not approach them in a sudden, they r very timid and easily being shocked, bun bun r a quiet creature and do not like to be in a noisy environment as well........what u can do now is temporary leave yr HL alone and let her relax for a few day....monitor her diet, bring her to a good vet if there is any critical case like diarrhea......like what sangterap and 11 Jan mentioned, do a proper reseach and do some reading before u decided to take in another bun bun....... nod.gif hope this will help......good day icon_rolleyes.gif

*
hi, bunny born to be a prey, that is y it is their instinct that they do not like to be carried. yes, u r right, they like it very much when u pet them by scrabing their head, their chin and the back of their ear...........so, please give up of carrying them cos bunny r very fragile and if they struggle too much, their bone will be easily break.... nod.gif nod.gif
