QUOTE(jaanu1128 @ Jun 21 2008, 11:44 PM)
Hi..are u sure its diarrhea? don't get confuse with the soft stool as happen to me on the first few days after i bought Luli (my bunny)..diarrhea is something that is watery (like when human get diarrhea) and without any forms...if still have form its consider soft stool (normally it look like grapes)...based on my experience and as told by vet, u need to check their ears..are they cold or warm...if its warm then the rabbit is still in good condition...diarrhea can caused by stress or if your rabbit still young then they must have lick or drink their own pee...diarrhea very dangerous to bunny...hope ur bunny will be okay soon...

i can still remember when i found out that Luli's poo poo very soft and i thought its diarrhea...actually its soft stool.. laugh.gif
during that time when vet told me if the rabbit's ears is cold then he cant last any longer..i start crying again n again...very scared to lost him... sad.gif
*
hi, jaanu1128 explanation make sense also, do not mix up soft stools and diarrhea, soft stools is small, round, very soft, very dark in colour and moisture. those soft stools normally stick together and look like a banch of grape.......diarrhea is watery and it is very smelly, check yr bunny tails whether it is constantly wet and smelly......do not stress up yrself too much cos it will stress up yr bunny indirectly.........which can be a reason for diarrhea as well....just let yr bunny relax, give unlimited hay and water...........read up as much as u can on how to raise bunny. just click whatever u want to know in google and it will pop out a lot of useful website for u to refer.........hope this will help, good day. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

seems like you have some really health conscious rabbits there lol! let them be, a rabbit's diet should consist mainly of hay (lots of it!), supplemented by pellets and vege. if they don't get treats, no problem there.. even better for them  smile.gif
*
yap, agree!! this is how i raise my bunny, no treat for the past one year and thank God, they stay healthy all this while cos i feed them merely on hay, pellet and water.......only recently i try to give them treat, such as papaya tablet, carrot, pine apple juice, green apple, but all in very small amount......... tongue.gif tongue.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif icon_idea.gif icon_idea.gif

sorry for asking this silly question..

is Pellet necessary? I mean if for like a month I just feed my Luffy hay, is that ok?
*
hi, this is not a silly question......as far as i am concern, only hay should not be a problem, pellet is just for bunny to fill up their stomach. let me put it this way, hay is a must in bunny diet but not pellet, just imagine those rabbit in the wild, they eat grass or hay only, there is no such thing as pellet. however, if u wish to feed yr bunny pellet, remember not too much ....... nod.gif nod.gif nod.gif

thx both of you..

I think I will stick with Hay 1st, and feed some vegie to Luffy..

I just get Luffy..

and he/she(I dun know yet! 2 month) still nervous..sitting on the corner..

eniwei,

I can't access http://thetimorthyhayclan.spaces.live.com

is it wrong?

oh yesh, do rabbit loves song/music? <--another silly question..haha
*
hi, sorry for the wrong address, the correct one should be http://thetimothyhayclan.spaces.live.com/. yap, what 11Jan said was correct, if u only want to feed with hay, it must be very fresh and high quality hay........the bunny owner that i mentioned above manages to get very very very fresh hay, u can see from the photo he uploads.......thus, there is no skinny bunny from his farm........... thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

I notice some mix breed quite easy drop their fur, some even have very poor fur strenght. I wondering where is the biggest rabbit farm in Malaysia that breed MEAT and for Pet at same time for the market. Imagine the SATAY ARNAB.... I not dare to eat at all...
*
yap, i agree, my mixed breed bunny fur tend to drop easily than my pure breed bunny hmm.gif hmm.gif , my pure breed bunny fur never seem to drop when i comb him........and my mixed breed is the opposite, a lot of her fur will stick on the comb when i comb her.............. shakehead.gif shakehead.gif

QUOTE(teongpeng @ Jun 26 2008, 12:47 AM)
1. it depends on how much u love your rabbits. For me, i use treats to lure them back. To do so effectievly, i never feed them outside their cage. Just sit beside their cage with the treat and they will automatically run inside because they know its the only way to get the treat (thru the cage). takes training but its usually quite easy.

Previously i use to sweep them home with broom, haha. so when they see the broom coming they automatically run back too.

2. You can learn how to grab bunnies from youtube.com.
*
yap, agree with teongpeng, i never lure my buns by giving them treats outside the cage, i hv trained them to eat in side the cage, whenever they saw me holding treats such as carrot, green apple, they will automatically know that they need to run back into the cage in order to enjoy the treats........ laugh.gif laugh.gif icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

I want to ask again..

My rabbit dun seems to eat its alfalfa hay..it only eat pellet..is that ok? I try to limit the pellet..but it only eat little bit of alfalfa when I limit the pellet...
*
hi, i believe that our bun bun generally love to eat pellet more than hay, most probably pellet is tastier blush.gif blush.gif ............as far as i am concern, we should limit our bun bun pellet intake and give them unlimited hay.......we should train them to eat hay from young (2 months and above) .......u might want to give yr bun pellet twice a day (morning and evening), once it finishes the pellet, just let them munch on the hay.....don't worry, they will eat the hay once they found no pellet ...........once yr bunny reach 6 months and above, u should just give them pellet once in the morning and the rest of day should be on hay.......u can ocassionally give them treat such as carrot, green apple, papaya tablets, pine apple juice ...but must be in small amount only ......... icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

Yeah normally poo is something human perceive as dirty and bad. Bunny owners must always be happy to see poo and pee with their rabbits. That means they are healthy!

yap, agree. i am actually VERY HAPPY AND RELIEF when i c my buns pee and poo a lot thumbup.gif thumbup.gif , i am actually immune to my buns strong odour and their poo poo (eventhough i try my best to cut down their strong pee pee smell), i don't think they r dirty to me cos i will feel VERY WORRY AND UNHAPPY when i c my buns cage is clean..........what a crazy woman i am........... rolleyes.gif rolleyes.gif

guys..have u ever grooming your bun bun? this morning i went to pet family to groom Luli but i cancelled back after know the situation where i need to leave him there and pick him up after a few hours..is every place like that? can't let myself leave my Luli with dog barking here and there..i can see he seems very scared..don't want to move..then finally i change my mind and bring him back to my house..
*
hi, my buns groomed once and it ended up my lop ear coco get shocked, did not want to drink and eat, hide at the corner of the cage, so offensive and quiet, this last for a few day shakehead.gif shakehead.gif ............since then, i never take my buns for grooming until now........may be my buns are house rabbit, they actually quite clean, thus bathing and grooming, as far as i am concern is not necessary.......

Just a reminder, bunny get stressed up very very very easily, over shock can caused them to death.....luckily my coco managed to relax himself and back to normal.......as u know that if my coco continue to be like that, he will die sweat.gif sweat.gif ......actually bathing or grooming bunny is not a necessity, if u consult the vet, most of them will discourage u to bath and groom bunny.....however, i understand that yr Luli is jersey wooly, that is why u need to trim his fur.......yap, u r right some grooming shop groom the rabbit with the present of all the dog and cat, that is why yr Luli feels scare and stress up ohmy.gif ohmy.gif .....i afraid that i really have no idea where to find a good shop for u to bring yr bun for grooming........may be Bebee will know.......... hmm.gif hmm.gif
