QUOTE(tineagle @ Jan 21 2011, 12:53 PM)
I have a question regarding warrants and privatization.  If a company goes private, and pays off all its stock holders the worth of the stock, what happens to the warrant holders?

Do they get paid the value of the warrants after conversion to stock price as well?
*
They will offer a price on the warrant as well.
But only applicable to ordinary warrant, or WA, WB, WC etc.

Call warrant is issued by third party and has nothing to do with the privatisation offer, but being settled by issuing bank according to the CW clause set in the first place.

Hi. Can anyone pls tell me how i can find out whether a company has a policy to share its profit with shareholders in the form of dividend and its ratio? Thinking of moving some funds into such companies. Thanks!
*
The policy is not written nor promised.

Just some company do maintain the dividend throughout years after years at specific rate, or amount according to the profit, although there is no fixed rate being set and promised.

Only reit has specific ratio of must >90% of its earning, as if not, they will not able to enjoy tax exempted benefit.

QUOTE(t5t @ Jan 22 2011, 08:16 AM)
What is Private Placement? Is this good or bad news?
*
Additional shares being issued.
Similar to right issue, just it is being issued to specific identified investors, instead to shareholders across.

i have a question..after open the cds acc with RM10, is there any thing that i need to pay if i want to start trading?some say need to have a deposit RM2500 min to trade..just want to involve in intraday transaction only for starter......
*
It depends on individual credit limit give by the broker house.

It is all about trust between.
Just like doing business, whether you insist your client to pay you first before delivery or give how much credit for the client.

QUOTE(kai88 @ Jan 24 2011, 10:42 PM)
I know that the purpose of a private company to go public is to expand it's capital by selling the company share to public. It can be done via the assistance of an underwriter and the underwriter has an option to buy all of the shares 1st then only sell to public OR just act as a mediate between public and the particular company. So, my question is who are the underwriter in Malaysia? Is it Bursa?
*
Investment banks.

No, once approved dividend payment then no change.

Thanks. I have another few questions regarding ipo. Let say a X company wanted to issue 1000 lots for it's first IPO. Does it mean , the company needs to sell all the 1000 lots through its ipo first before to get listed in bursa? Btw, is there any requirement stated the minimum profit for a company to get listed?

Thanks again.
*
IPO just mean distributed existing company share to public only.
Let say the company origin has 1 mil shares on the owner. Now do IPO for listing, the owner can distribute 500K to public, and keep remaining 500k. As long as the listing requirement is met, public spread more than 25%, then it is fulfilling the listing requirement.

Yes, can check the KLSE faq section, I believe the info can be found there.

QUOTE(lch78 @ Jan 26 2011, 02:22 PM)
Hope someone can help me understand this:

SP SETIA
(I) PROPOSED PLACEMENT OF NEW ORDINARY SHARES OF RM0.75 EACH IN S P SETIA ("S P SETIA SHARES"), REPRESENTING UP TO 15% OF THE ISSUED AND PAID-UP SHARE CAPITAL OF THE COMPANY ("PROPOSED PLACEMENT")

This placement of new shares, who is going to pay for it? Is it existing shareholders? Why the price is so cheap compare to the current mother share price?
Newbie here...
*
Private placement mean specific identified investors by the company.

It is not issued at RM0.75.
Rm0.75 is the par value of the stock only.
Private placement price will be determined later based on market average price, which company can decide later.

It is always based on payment date, disregard the payment is for what year.
It is always based on the date you received money.

So, 2011

with most of our transaction go through the system, what the use of remiser ??? still got people make call to place order ?
*
Yes, there is still, especially for older generation.

But number is shrinking fast, and that's why remisier no longer a hot or dream job that people looking after compared to 90's time.
Back then even bank manager level people also want to migrate as remisier.

got a ques to ask u huys..lets say some CEO of a company plans to take private that company at a higher price of the share(those following news should know what i mean),if i am able to queue the share at a lower price than the price the CEO is taking private..i am guaranteed100% to make profit??
*
It doesn't make sense.

1. If the CEO is taking private at RM1.00 (let say), and already made a mandatory general offer already, who is the one "water fish" to sell you at RM0.80?

2. If said plan but not yet finalised or not yet have MGO, the CEO can still have choice not to proceed the privatisation plan. By then, you may not make a profit out of it.

noob question here, transfer shares from IB-A to IB-B, both under my name in M'sia. I know it charge RM10 per share, no matter what quantity.

Question is, should I approach my IB-A or IB-B to request transfer ?

Thanks
*
A.
B doesn't know you have the share in A, nor has authority to do anything about it.

as far as i recall u need to initiate a inter-CDS share transfer. like the question above, contact A to ask to transfer your shares out to B. B will most likely credit u back the rm10 fee that you paid.
*
Rm10 gone as service charge as far as I know and experienced.

QUOTE(emmm @ Mar 17 2011, 06:39 PM)
TQ for replying.

Can further clarify...

1. RM10 for each counter?

2. I have 7 counters with HwangDBS (offline trading), therefore, the brokerage fee is expensive. Can I transfer all these counters to ECM online that has another CDS acc. Both CDS acc are in my name.

3. If can, means I pay RM70 for all counters transferring?

4. I will have to call my remisier in HwangDBS to initiate the transfer?

Thank you.
*
1. Not 100% sure but it should be. One form per share transaction.

2. Yes, you can

3) refer 1)

4) No, don't need, just approach the broker firm admin. Remisier cannot initiate the transfer, only CDS owner can.

err regarding bonus issue. i bought.... mudajaya at 23 march...

and then i saw the bonus issue at http://www.investlah.com/forum/index.php?t...39698;topicseen

detail from other place.
Bonus issue. Mudajaya recently announced a 1-for-3 bonus issue, which is expected to be completed in 3QCY11. This is positive for shareholders as it will improve liquidity. Also, share prices typically do not adjust fully after they go ex of bonus issues. The group also announced its maiden ESOS.

the announcement date is 9 march. so am i entitled to the bonus issue? or do they have an ex date like dividend?
*
Yes, you need to hold it until the ex-date coming.

I saw this announcement from my trade platform OSK188.com (maybe some of you already read it)....
28 Mar 11 - In conjunction with the implementation of replacement of Session Order with Day Order targeted on 18 April 2011, please be informed that once implemented all unmatched orders (limit and market orders) entered during first session will be automatically carried forward by the Bursa Trade Securities (BTS) trading system and shall be considered as valid for whole trading day. Also, a single trading limit shall be applied for the whole trading day:

Trading limit for New Listing including IPO:

Above RM 1.00 - Limit Up : 400%; Limit Down : 30%.
Below RM 1.00 - Limit Up : 400% or minimum 30 cents whichever is higher; Limit Down : 30% or minimum 30 cents whichever is higher.
Trading limit for Existing stock:

Above RM1.00 - Limit Up : 30%; Limit Down : 30%.
Below RM1.00 - Limit Up : 30 cents; Limit Down : 30 cents

I got a question on what is actually the bold part ? Kind like blur to understand, i guess this is a new ruling. Thanks  icon_question.gif
*
This is still same, just previously counted per session, now change to per day.

eg. stock closed Rm1.
Old
Morning limit up Rm1.30, if reach, after can limit up another 30% aka 1.30 x 1.3 = Rm1.69, max the stock that can achieve for whole day

New
Max limit up for the day = Rm1.30.

QUOTE(UyxoR @ Apr 8 2011, 09:49 AM)
i have some question regarding call warrant with cash settlement

1) Let say i want to exercise the warrant, i should apply it through my stock broker or the Issuer of the warrant (such as CIMB investment bank)

2) The issuer (CIMB investment bank) will pay me?

3) The mother share price will be base on the closing price of the same day i file the exercise?

4) Between my application for exercise and Issuer (CIMB) execute the application, is there any time lag? For example, if i exercise on monday, when i will know how much i made from the exercise? (Or i already know when i exercise it on monday?)
Thanks in advance.
*
1) You cannot exercise call warrant.
Call warrant will be settled/"exercised" only on maturity date.

2) Yes if the call warrant still in money.

3) Exercise price is based on average closing price of 5 last trading day (generally)

nono..i mean i am using my own online trading account..lets say if i queue at 1.50, but the price is at 2.00 and never dropped to 1.50 level, can others buy my share at 1.50 EVEN if the price is 2.00??are they allowed?
*
How can you Q at 1.50, when market price is 2.00?

Your order will be straight away executed if you key in at 1.50 at the best/closer buyer price.

There is no stop loss mechanism in all online trading portal in Malaysia as far as I know.
