Bro Kenz, sorry to hear about Kenzo. Your setup very similiar to mine and steps are the same except that at this stage when you've separated the leaves & stems out from the plastic pot, dump the leaves + stems into a pail of water. Soak thoroughly including the stems and wash in the pail coz the FS like to explore and they move on the stems as well. I didn't wash mine with soap btw and Trix and gang have ben living in there ok for abt a week now.

BTW just came back from matchups with Trevally's FS and I lost in straight sets.. Very shocked to see that Trix initiated all his attacks with a chop and he seemed weak although he still wanted to fight after losing 3 to 4 times. Was hoping he would remain a normal FS.. sigh.. His movement is starting to become like my previous sup pau Scud (RIP) daddy long legs style of movement. Hope he only convert to kop pau and not sup pau, if not haiz..

If weather next week is good, I'm gonna try Sungei Buloh Reserve in Kranji one of the days.

I left them soaked in the pail (leaves, stem, roots and all) for abt 30mins while drilling holes at the sides of the pet tank. Also after they are planted in the tank, I sprayed the leaves and stems again with water and left overnight. Next day intro Bus into the tank. A day later when see Bus no problem then my FS go in

I C.. Wow very interesting. Got question for you just when the spider is about to moult does it exihibit any different behaviour like slow movement, darker colour, not eating food etc?

Bro's can consider using the time during wet weather to setup tank with live plants so no need to pluck fresh leaves that often.. Nowadays I just leave my FS in the tank and only need to gather leaves for container nesting only for sparring session with other bros.

BTW can let me know as well location and timing if this weekend if you guys intending to meetup as well. If I can, I'l want to drop by as well kaypoh kaypoh.. Hopefully Trix regain his strenght and have fully converted or whatever by this weekend. I'm just glad to have seen him make a nest in the tank yesterday night. About the Hulk vs Transformer match, looks like Hulk just ate? His tummy looks full and looks a tad sluggish.

Anyway share with you guys my findings on extending FS lifespan, might be useful especially to Vincent & Edwin who have the current champions now. They are based on experience gained from trying to refresh my 1st King Trix which was previously half dead with non sticky legs to being able to jump around and partially sticky legs now and feeding well.

1. Habitat - Fresh air and live plants! Mindstorm's and Ken25's who have good examples of FS having lived at least 3mths and more in their potted plants outside their homes. I tried to replicate their natural habitat as close as possible via the pet tank setup and left the tank outside my flat in the corridor. Reason I decided to leave the tank outside is becoz the temperature indoors at night is still warm from the residual heat build up during the day and its breezier too! I doubt the corridor lights which are still switched on at night affects them as I realised that the stretch of CB trees @ NTU have lamplights on at night as well I also spray water on the leaves before leaving for work in the morning and after coming home at night.

2. Vary their diet. Most of us here are feeding them crickets. There's a reason why these crickets are smelly after your FS have fed on them. Smell it again, doesn't it smell somewhat saltish like dried chicken perhaps? When I asked what the crickets eat, the girl showed me a sack of chicken feed! Trevally and me have observed that feeding them crickets day in day out seem to decrease their performance over the long run, so we try to supplement the crickets with flies or other insects whenever we can.

3. Plenty of rest. I agree FS live to fight and we loooveee to see them fight . This one a bit tough so I leave it to your discretion on how often to let them fight and against which type of fighter.

Still think Transformer should be classified as Large based on his wingspan.. Try comparing Hulk and Transformer again when Hulk's abdomen slimmer. Difference should be that great

BTW, I found worms appearing in the chicken feed given to me by the girl when I bought crickets 2 batches ago. Tried them on the ice cream FS and they seemed to love it with no problems shown after 1wk of feeding.

Anyways earlier this wk on Monday happened to pass by Yishun Ave 1 in the morning and caught a mini-chop. Afternoon checked out Pasir Ris Park and got a mini-handicap(1 arm shorter) Caught 1 medium and alot of small FS also but they were all ice-cream .

So let these 2 fight yesterday night and videoed using my Nokia N95 8GB ( ya quite surprised by the result not bad after finding out secret macro mode on youtube ) Short fights thou..

1st match - Mini-handicap won

Then I let Mini-handicap vs 1 of the larger Medium sparring I have, sparring won due to size advantage but not bad considering Mini-handicap's size

After that released the Mini-handicap into my potted plants outside with a Bu.

1 of my Bu also moulted into a Kang 2 nights ago. Still small, so released into rehab centre to keep Trix amused Seems like Bu that have suspiciously long arms moult into Kang? I've accidentally caught a M-L Bu with long arms before @ NTU but face was black. Shit.. should've kept her I recalled reading was it Viper who had a Kang moult into a Kang before by the name of Bro1 issit? But can't find that post in this thread.

Bro kopPao, no need to change your nick. Just change your leaves. I noticed your leaves usually U keep until dried up. Dried leaves are usually where we find chopsters! . Btw you noticed my Trix last Saturday reverted back to normal. I suspect its becoz of live plants + light and air in his pet tank. Sparred him 2 nights ago and he still used normal fighting style. But legs still problematic, maybe old age but hopefully he's gonna moult but I tell myself impossible.. haiz.. maybe will release him if after 1wk still like that.

Still got chance of Transformer reverting back to normal like Trix. Try to make a container like Bro Trevally's which uses netting on top and use fresh leaves, add moisture and leave him in lighted airy area (not direct sun though, and clean leaves thoroughly).

Alamak Hulk gone? Vincent so garang let him free at forest arh.. Nowadays rain Hulk will sure will wander off deeper into the woods.

Welcome Bro jong71 and alex31 also. Very happy that we got more kakis to join us! Btw Alex31, your method is also used by some other Bros in this forum as well. I do that also to wandering spiders except I put leaves in the container to lure them. If you have chance to hunt with our resident expert Spiderhunter Ken25 lagi best coz can get to observe him catching FS using that method not only to wandering spider but to nesting ones as well (more environmentally friendly as the leaves are not cut).

And err.. don't be disappointed when comparing your 'large' spiders to other Bro's Kings. It may well turn out to be Medium-Large or worse Medium as what I and some other Bros found out when we first joined. Their size classification is a bit extreme and nowadays when I catch something which looks Large, I tell myself its a medium-large, coz later on when sparring against others, you'll find out they are same size as their Medium class fighters or even worse smaller. Hopefully your Large FS will give Transformer a real challenge Otherwise no worries.. most of us still keep FS of different sizes. Small doesn't mean cannot fight as you can see from our previous videos the smaller fighters of same strength when matched up usually produces longer more exciting matches

Their confirmed 'Large' sizes especially Terminator and Hulk will leave your jaws hanging..

Decided Gila has had enough for the day, so rested him until tommorow, hopefully he can give Trevally's Ranger a good fight.

This morning, saw Trix restless in his pet tank wandering from leaf to leaf so took him out to fight against the strongest M-L FS 7 legs which I've name No.7. Trix lost but I think its becoz he was on lower ground initially had to fight in his most uncomfortable position given that his legs has lost its stickyness. Aiyoh seems like Nokia N95 cannot take moving video in macro mode else end up choppy.

Bro Koppau, yea Transformer should be large, Terminator and Hulk is X-TRA Large hahaha No lah, I think no need to bring in another size into the classification. Just let them all stay Large as we know these sizes are very very RARE. Anything smaller than Transformer should be M-L class and below.

I think Terminator and Hulk should be King Kong Pow leow since nobody has caught anything bigger and we combed whole Singapore already whereas last time in School we were limited to certain places to hunt.

Hi Bro Jong, my FS aren't huge la, the biggest is only Medium-Large and its not even Gila. Gila is medium only. Clear videos and colorful FS can be quite deceptive giving the 1st impression that it looks big. Anyways hopefully can meet someday & spar against your fierce fighters. From the videos especially the 2min long one where Destroyer looked like he kena makan by your FS, you have some seriously excellent fighters!

Yo Bro Edwin, Jet Li was just caught this morning during Family outing @ Kent Ridge park in the CB trees by the side of the pond there. Weird.. he confirm small size when I caught him, but once home and I gave him a Bu for company, a few mins later when I came back to check them out, he was eating the Bu and hence why he looked bigger and fatter in the video. Anyways dun care la.. we got a great fight

Actually was already guessing that Hulk will win before BTL posted due to the fact that Transformer converted to chop. I just have negative experience with chopsters be it partial chop, sup or kop pow I guess. But thats just my opinion only..and maybe it will change in the future if I own a good chopster that lives beyond 2weeks.. but then again very unlikely to happen as currently now whenever I hunt and manage to catch a chopster, I let it go unless if its really unique like mini-chop.

Bro Trevally, sorry just now cannot make it for 2nd round at nite after RT, already shacked and got to settle my kid's school stuff..but at least we got the Cobra vs Jet Li fight Must say just now very funny when we were both wondering why Wind shrink so much to medium size until you realised it was Rain hahaha Next weekend then Gila vs Wind and rematch for Jet Li vs Cobra. I hope Cobra is still ok, coz looks like Jet Li injured him.

Just sparred Gila with the other 2 M-L FS and confirmed he beat them both so he's my 1st king now.. Feels really weird that an ex sparring FS which I feel is only Medium size has become such a good fighter. I believe this should be the same FS I caught @ East Coast Park at the shrubs beside carpark B2.

Tried to supplement the diet of the spiders living in my flowerpots. Found it difficult to feed them moving critters so I decided to drop a mealworm in front of them since the mealworm will stick to the surface and wriggle and attract their attention.

Ya heard about Lalang vs Destroyer from Bro Edwin when Krauser's FS Krew paid the infamous Lalang a visit at 7pm yesterday. No choice, as Lalang was currently the TOP FS in the Medium/ Medium Large Category, I chose him to spar against my Gila which had 'destroyed' Trevally's team earlier in the day. Let you guys see the result yourself when Edwin upload the video la although I think the result is not fair to Lalang since he was not @ 100% having been involved in a long fight earlier against Destroyer whereas Gila had a few short fights which seem like a warm up to him only.

Bring your SD card along so I can copy the video over to my laptop via my card reader. I'l try help you upload those long videos.

1st fight: I took a gamble on Jet Li to go against the bigger Mongrel. Already expected Jet Li to loose so no surprise. Jet Li put up with 3chops.. not too bad la..

2nd fight: Gila seemed a bit stoned as I just took him out of the rehab centre from the last meeting with Lalang. Had to warm him up a bit to make him more active. The fight went same way as most of his fights; gostan pow style. Walao, I thought Gila was going to lose.. Mongrel was so aggressive but when both went under, I saw Gila biting Mongrel in an awkward position (I saw it as I was holding the leaf as usual ). Aftermath when I inspected Mongrel closely, I noticed him moving with his 2nd last rear leg on the left side hanging. Guess Gila must have bitten that leg causing him to flee. This fight could have gone either way and I believe Mongrel was the stronger one till Gila hit him below the belt I hope he recovers soon. Many more good fights can be expected from him

3rd fight: Gila initiated the attack Sup Pow style on Ajax and I tought seow leow converting into chop? Either Gila was overconfident or impatient or both coz his normal style is usually Gostan Pow. Anyways Gila paid the price and lost as Ajax knew how to counter. Aftermath, Gila's left 'teeth' like a bit out of position and his right claw seemed senget abit. Just now I checked him again, nothing has dropped yet so I put him back into Rehab

Ajax is with me temporarily at Bro Jong's request to spar him against Lalang or Sea tomorrow I believe should be a good fight as Ajax is a good M-L sized fighter.

Fight took place 7pm later in the day. Lighting conditions not that good so video a bit blurry. Longest ever fight recorded in SG but mostly inactive grabbing. Lalang lost 1 of his legs the next day. A word of caution - I let slip of where I caught Lalang in the video but go there at your own risk. The place sounds friendly and all but it's actually not. Enuf said..

Lalang almost got eaten but fight was stopped at kopPao's request. I thought he was a goner but kopPao knew him better , Lalang was up and running 15mins later.

IMO, Sea should be another category all together as he was visibly bigger than Ajax, Lalang and Gila. This true M-L sized fighter was just too powerful for the M-sized Gila forcing Gila to play dirty towards the end of the fight(he tried to bite off one of Sea's legs like what he did previously to Lalang and Mongrel) but Sea caught on and blocked in time

True Lalang looked liked a goner at the end of the match, but he did recover again and again before. How is he? Hope he's ok coz he's a damn rare FS that doesn't know the meaning of 'Give up'

BTW your blue pow is stronger IMO even thou it lost in this video. We didn't video the fight just before this fight when your blue pow defeated the fierce 7leg chopster caught by Ah Ong which lasted like close to a minute? By the time we spar it against this green pow, I think the blue pow was tired already. New replacement fighter for Lalang? The green pow was caught by Ken25 btw and is with me atm in transit to Bro Trevally .. I got too many FS alrdy to take care off haha

Eh, might be meeting Bro Trevally later ard 3pm onwards, if you guys happen to be nearby I'l pop over. Simone's FS looks good Bro Jong, if you happen to be reading this, can you make it also? Bro Simone, seems like your Nokia is converting to chop. You and kopPao har.. dunnoe why go and follow Bro Viper's patented method of converting FS to chopsters.. Keep FS under the bed somemore la..

Haiz, I was really pinning on Gila to defeat Ajax hence the loud 'Walao!' at the end of the video. But since Gila is mentally unstable.. can't be helped.. He seems to prefer the tactic of letting himself be pushed or pull his opponents which are equal or stronger in strength under the platform to strike a 'low blow'. If he cannot achieve that, he will run. Can see this especially in this Gila VS Ajax Round 1 video where Ajax prevented Gila from going under the platform twice by trapping Gila's rear legs. After the 2nd attempt to drag Ajax underneath failed Gila disengaged and ran

Have to clarify that Ajax has performed better against Sea previously for 4chops in Sea VS Ajax (Round 2) when you first came to our 'headquarters'. This was round 2 and it wasn't Bukit as kopPao mentioned in the youtube comments of the same round 1 match.

Bro Jong dun release Ajax yet! Nooooooooooo... his 'Eagle' stance is very nice to look at and I think should have a few more fights left in him leh..


Ya I second having Bro Jong as official videoman He's using a no frills camcorder with no macro mode and yet can capture such a detailed video. You should see his recording technique, his camcorder lens sebei close to the FS almost touching the platform wan.

Lol! Relak la Bro Trevally, maybe should re-sort your FS and those which are old like Wind and Ranger should release them to your flowerpots.

The first video was confusing since both FS looked very similiar and I initially tought my flowerpot was the one whose claw was bitten and lost. Only after the match were we able to confirm the winner and looser by testing both FS fighting stance again.

Angry with Jet Li for refusing to fight his best friend Cobra so I have punished him by putting him in confinement But his refusal to fight turned out to be a blessing in disguise haha. This flowerpot is one of 2 of my sparring FS which I mentioned earlier have became fiercer. So Bro's we should also monitor our sparring FS too

BTW Mindstorm, if you're still reading this thread or any of the other Bros who have experienced Bu molting to Kang before, is there any chance that this Bu here will molt to a Kang? Its bloody huge and its face is unusually white for a Bu, however the palps aren't as swollen like those of a Kang's. Been keeping it for almost 2wks already but still no molt

Lalang survived this 2nd meeting against Gila and I believe kopPao has released him already.

BTW was Raven previously used for sparring also? Your Spar 1 also looks strong man So you got 3 good small fighters now to challenge Jet Li and Flowerpot

Jet Li has recovered his fighting spirit after I corrected the problem of removing this pregnant Bu. Didn't know pregnant Bus can be so fierce til I saw it chasing Jet Li around in his container yesterday before feeding time. After that tried him against a zero fighter and he gave chase So I decided to try him out against the flowerpot FS that slayed almost Trevally's entire team and both gave a good fight around 30sec, damnit didn't record. The fight went underneath the leave (as usual for my FS) but I didn't turn the leave over, just held it high up and saw them still fighting. Then both of them sort of dropped from the leave with the web trailing and continued fighting in the air! Walao! In the end Jet Li dropped below and flowerpot climbed back up. When I tried to spar them again, Jet Li ran. So the small flowerpot is now my new champion small fighter WTF!

Point noted. Anyways all the bros here discourage death matches and will stop the fight when they see this about to happen. Maybe we did say something like 'Die already' or 'Going to die', in the videos becoz we were all worked up and excited during the 'Live' matches but in reality the fights were stopped in time and both FS survived.

All of them except me that is . I'l remove my 1 death match of Gila killing a chopster which I posted earlier, no problem

Not much good fights yesterday.. maybe due to Trevally's block being damn windy haha. You may have noticed no fights from Gila. He's still alive just that he's suffering from the same problem suffered by my previous 1st King Trix -> legs no longer sticky and walks like senior citizen.. Probably will release him by end of the week. He's now 7weeks old since capture.

And also a suspected Kang in his last instar. Looks like Bu but notice his swollen palps. Currently his size is abt s-m size

I'm guessing the FS that was on the grid paper is Hulk based on stance and extended arms wingspan. That meant Hulk lost? Now I'm thinking twice whether to let Polo go against Sea haha

Sian, could be the Bu again. Seems like not a good idea to put Bu in container together with the Kang for so long. A few hrs before meeting with Simon, I checked on Polo and saw the same thing happening. The fat Bu chasing Polo in the container But no excuses. Laser seebeh strong and looks slightly bigger than M size. Have to wait till tommorow nite to confirm with Bro kopPao's Sea

Since Polo still had the fighting spirit, matched him against Xiao Kia(Sup Pow)

Buay tahan haha, so took out my 2nd best fighter Solo which as his name imply has been alone in his container since capture

Last match decided to give Laser some safe exercise before meeting Sea tommorow. Walao Laser showed off his strenght to lift up Solo into the air at 4sec mark.

BTW I have lots of slings running around in my flowerpots just this morning and also in the pet tank Found them out when I was checking on the yet to moult Kang. Seems they like to share 1 big nest together. Just this leaf I flip got like 4 of them
