i thought each time u service they will drain all the old engine oil first then fill the new 1?...or they just add on only?
*
Of course drain bro, in my opinion flush or not doesn't really matter since fully syn oil can be mixed with mineral oil. Later on when you do your second oil change it would have cleared the old oil out. If you flush also there is going to be residue in the engine because there's no way it can remove all of the flushing fluid which is then worse because it will thin out the good ex fully syn oil.

OR if you flush then run mineral oil again to clean out the flushing then is back to square one again, mineral oil mixed with fully syn. So wat's the logic there?

I didnt notice got gen2 v2 now.put me in the list. haha
Anyway I have a question. I owned a 2006 gen2 .What's the difference in term of engine and performance between my gen2 and the latest 2008 gen2 or pesona?
*
Engine wise nothing much i think, except if you are driving an auto, the persona has a updated transmission control unit that is more suited to the poor torque

i heard they improve the jerking problem when the car is in slow speed which  notice occasionally with my manual car. My brother bought a 1.6 manual pesona and i havent got the time to test it on the road yet. But I did feel some difference when I have to re-park his car at our parent house.
*
didn't hear of any jerking problems actually so can't comment on that

anyway guys,
anyone changed the side mirror before? i feel like my current gen2 side mirror sux0r~!!!
the blind spot is very great and sometimes i really just cant c cars which are beside me.
and ill have to look infront n at the mean time cut left/right before i miss tht turnin..n u guys know lorr, msians demm selfish..ppl put signal they purposely tekan somemore even when they're goin slow in the 1st place... laugh.gif
even when parking time also, the side mirror cant seem to b able to b low to look at the ground and at the same time high enough to look at cars. if i adjust high i cant c any parking line when wna back park, and if i adjust low, those car i can only c btm part of their bumper sweat.gif
anyone experiencing the same thing? lol
*
Yup, Every dang time i have to park the car or change lanes, i put in a small blindspot mirror to help with parking, when changing lanes have to turn the head

It's a design flaw, they have to redesign the mirror completely or change the driving position

reporting in..  lenno/AT 1.6/dune

want to ask u all something, the rear bonnet is tightly fixed in place when it is closed right? mine is a bit loose and i can shake it a little.. it make a lot of noise when driving..

any DIY can be done to fix this? no time to go shop cause got test..

thanks
*
Yes you can it's easy, there are two screws you can loosen on the catch to move it either up or down, moving down makes it hold tighter and up looser. What you want to do is loosen it slightly so that it's still tight but the catch can move, then tap it downwards with something heavy gently to move it a little at a time. Then close the bootlid and check, keep doing until you get the tightness and still you don't need to slam really hard to close it. It takes a lot of patience to get it right, but don't release the screws fully and you'll have hell of a time getting it right again. Once you get the tightness you want you can wrap some elctrical insulation tape on the catch for some extra sound dampening, but get it right and you won't need it

ohh.. i think when i send my car for repair they did loosen the whole thing up. Going to have big headache.. haha

so its nothing to do with the two square rubber thing at the sides right?
*
The rubber help to hold the boot lid if it's tight enough, but can't adjust though

Added on January 14, 2008, 8:55 pmi adjusted it to the lowest, still can vibrate. then i tape few rounds of electrical duct tape on it and no more sound. hehe

now figuring better tapes cause scare later the tape will break and get sticky
*
The lock can also be adjusted but i've never done it before, usually just the catch is enough

hard tuned products eh...

some says that they are very good and knows exactly wht they're doing...

heard some gen2 manage to gain more power from them...

anyway it depends on ur budget also...

what kind of power increment u want?

with 1k budget i would do the following to my standard gen2:

1. 4-2-1 R3 header - RM250+
2. S-Flow - RM250(If u know the place can get 180...i oso dunno where)
3. Fuel Pressure regulator - RM480
4. Large Snorkel - RM70

Rough total of RM1050...

Still have some money left?
1. Drop in Air Filter (K&N OR Pipercross) - RM250+
2. R3 Spark Plug Cable - RM150
3. Iridium IT20 - RM150
4. Lighter Taiwan 15" Rim - RM600

Another rough total of RM 1150

Still craving for more?
1. Adjustable campulley - RM560
2. Crank Pulley - RM300+

Another rough estimation of RM860

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

R3 now got promotion, full exhaust down to 700++ only, before promotion 1400+, also promotion on spark cable,

Wow...where can i buy R3 products from? drool.gif
What happened to your MME bodykit? hmm.gif
*
Yes the snorkel is plug and play but needs some massaging to get the rubber accordion flexible part to fit over it.

You can get their products at Centre of Excellence along Kesas

btw, will you be getting any items from R3 this time? brows.gif
i must say the R3 full exhaust system is really a good bargain... drool.gif
*
Was aiming for the springs but then i'm saving for new seats and light crank pulley, i'll wait for the next promo.

The exhaust is seriously a good deal, i bought mine at 1200 now 700 only. No regrets buying it, now i know the difference having a proper setup than rojak with cap ayam

wat about piping?..

Then how much does the installation cost?

fc how?
*
Everything there, it comes fully assembled with piping not single items. Installation i think is RM100 i can't remember. FC i didn't track but pretty sure it's not saving anymore than usual. I mean i paid big money for it, if i wanted to save money, i wouldn't have spent like that.haha

How can you help me? hmm.gif
icic...they removed the cat-con?btw...what did you do about your stock exhaust system once you take it out?Sell? hmm.gif
How come you don't like?what's the difference between your current setup compared to the R3 one?sorry for the loads of questions... notworthy.gif
*
Of course the cat con is out, the extractor replaces the whole section from where the exhaust begins at the engine block to the pineapple flexible joint underneath. No i kept the stock system. If i decide to sell the car i don't have to hunt and fork out money for a stock system again.
