guys guys need help..

all this while i've been using mineral engine oil for my car..

I plan to upgrade it to fully synthetic engine oil this time service for my gen2...any comments for this engine oil grade for gen2?..any issue?

my friend recommend me to use semi-synthetic will do..

experience gen2 owners pls help me here pls..thanks
*
if u service every 5000km++, semi syn will do..

using fully syn can do more than 10000km++...

ppl say from mineral to semi syn u dun need to flush ur engine..

but if u wanna change from mineral to fully syn, u better flush ur engine first, to clean ur engine from mineral leftover..

juz my 2 cent...

im using semi syn till now...

drain n flush is a diff thing..

drain will juz drain ur engine oil, but ur old engine oil will not completely gone in ur engine...

flush is taking out all the old engine oil in ur engine.. ur engine will completely free from previous oil...

Added on January 11, 2008, 3:09 pmnope, no side effect, juz u can hav a more mileage than usual thts all...

Of course drain bro, in my opinion flush or not doesn't really matter since fully syn oil can be mixed with mineral oil. Later on when you do your second oil change it would have cleared the old oil out. If you flush also there is going to be residue in the engine because there's no way it can remove all of the flushing fluid which is then worse because it will thin out the good ex fully syn oil.

OR if you flush then run mineral oil again to clean out the flushing then is back to square one again, mineral oil mixed with fully syn. So wat's the logic there?

Engine wise nothing much i think, except if you are driving an auto, the persona has a updated transmission control unit that is more suited to the poor torque

i heard they improve the jerking problem when the car is in slow speed which notice occasionally with my manual car. My brother bought a 1.6 manual pesona and i havent got the time to test it on the road yet. But I did feel some difference when I have to re-park his car at our parent house.
