dexter - 205/40/17 is the best profile for 17...use 45 MAYBE ok oso but thicker than 40 n more power loss there...
*
WAA..use 40series ar

i scare later kena lubang besar the tyre KABOOM!!

btw i supposed those k-speed 17" taiwan rims is lighter than our 15" bungaraya rims rite

using 45 tyre series will encounter power loss alot?...

all 17" with 45 tyre series owner pls share here

Guys, need abit of help here blush.gif ..

Just got my 2nd hand gen2 yesterday and noticed something; maybe normal , maybe problem liao. so need sifu here to help verify tongue.gif

1. When i turn off the enjine, there is a small tick-tick-tick sound coming from the back of the speedmeter. This sound last for a few second then disappear... It is normal? What this sound does ?

2. Also, beside the speedmeter, there is a magnet. What is the purpose of the magnet ? Just to hold paper, or got something more?

dexter...it all depends on ur rim choice...if u use a deep dish ones with a 'bibir' of cos it will look small...even for 15" u can make it look big by choosing a proper rims...let say advanti like R3 used will make it look big...my 16" last time some ppl oso think its a 17"...

Hello guys.
Just to share some info when i was traveled from..

Kota Damansara to Perlis.
Total Fuel pump at Kota Damansara = RM 62 (to get Full tank)
KM covered = 420 KM ( topup another RM10@Petronas Lencong Barat, Alor Setar to get to Perlis)
Max speed = 160 km/h
Average speed = 140km/h

Perlis to Kota Damansara
Total Fuel = 1 1/2 tanks (forget to set the total KM and total fuel)
Max speed = 180 km/h ("berat kaki" on the pedal at most of the time)
Average speed = 150km/h

So i'm quit OK with my fuel consumption - full tank manage to get at least 420km even i was speeding at most of the time. nod.gif nod.gif

Yo bro!!! We share the same rims lerrr, thumbup.gif K-II racing line right?
Ya la, I think 16" is good enough for looks. Just look for rims with very large and long spokes.
Ok thanks 4 the ACP thing. Powerzone is quite famous right?

I dare you.... Full tank , go drive around KLCC, Jalan Raja Laut, Jalan Tun Perak, Cheras (?) every Monday to Friday from 4:45pm to 6:45pm and see how far a full tank can go tongue.gif
blush.gif blush.gif blush.gif

I only hate that auto-geardown when we go down hill... even when can go downhill at 90km, also autogear down... waste my fuel only... vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif

Yeap, that auto-geardown shift thingy sometimes quite irritating cos its too sensitive. I think proton has already rectify it thru Persona. If u have the $$, u can change the Gen's TCU with the Persona one. Heard that it's very costly.

bro redtuna, mind to share what you've changed? smile.gif It would be useful to help anyone who will be going through the 40k service in near future smile.gif
*
sorry late reply..went balik kampong..election day meh..

40k service :

1. surefire - fule injector 19.70
2. Oil Filter 12.22
3. SparkPlug 38.24
4. Battery Protector 3.40
5. Gasket Plug-Oil drain 2.52
6. Syntium 800 (semi synt) 86.00
7. Automatic Trans.Fluid 143.75
8. Radiator Coolant 24.98
9. Brake Fluid Dot 4 20.80
10. sundries 0.89 (donno what is this for)
_____
352.50

plus

labour + service tax 5% 133.50

Total 486.00

didn't change the air filter though..still ok

also ask about power steering fluid..was quote for RM 120.00 (later lah..have to wait for payday..hohoho..)

actually i plan to get my car service at ah beng workshop..but their price is much higher that proton service..

around RM 600 for major service..spare part also not sure genuine or not.. so decide to go for proton service lah.

mind u, i live in miri..price may differ in penisular..

For the 20k service..is around RM 325..forgot oledi the list..done it in Proton Service Bandar Baru Bangi Yr 2006.

hope this explanation useful..

Guys, i'm considering a change of the exhaust pipe for my ride... My preference is towards the small or medium types, with quiet sound (my gf will kill me if the exhaust is too noisy! biggrin.gif)...

What are the recommended brands / types and prices, Gen2 bros?

Anyone here have a e-version of the handbook manual?

I'm not able to tune the radio freq for the stock 2-dim radio (bau-something model) ... The closest I've got is 105.7 (light-and-easy) ... and i'm not able to get hitz, mix or any of the other channels..
