I joke i joke ...its just that waaaay back...the HD-DVD and Blu-Ray Guys were trying to AVOID a format war...

now HD-DVD has lost...which is a shame...considering the fact that so much of research has gone into it...

Format wars are hard for everybody

its been said that no matter what...downloads cant match the high resolution offered by the BD and HD-DVD camps...

ofcourse there are High Def downloads...but alot of people especially in Malaysia...ada something called streamyx...lets just say my niece was born before my download to SOUTH PARK was complete

no need to buy coz.. HDDVD... gonna die soon... or maybe they can find cure.. ASAP... so still got a hope for new console...

not impacting in malaysia, for sure. since it's banned. but in other countries such as japan and usa sure the impact is very noticeable.

that maybe true...but remember when the PS2 was released..that was the time when DVD caught on in that country...

the biggest seller in that country was never porno...it was instead The Matrix and DVD versions of sports

With the availability of broadband subscription service, porn industry will has less impact on format wars because people will be downloading and watching porn at the comfort of their privacy. In the past, this is impossible and people need porn, so they need to get out and buy from retail outlet.

Watching porn in hi-def a necessity? At that cost they might as well go get some real laid.

if there is a lot of rpg games coming for the xbox360, then i will buy it.

HD DVD vs. Blu-Ray ? Again ?

Both offer "almost" the same picture quality, 1080p.

Blu-Ray has higher storage space. Does not matter.

HD DVD is much more affordable.

Factory manufacturing of HD DVDs are much easier.

Blu-Ray requires an entirely new technology to make it.

As Microsoft themselves say "HD DVD can use existing technology to be built whereas Blu-Ray, you're looking at a higher price as it requires much more advanced technology to be built."

HD DVD is the way to go "If you want to watch high-definition movies without a hole in your wallet."

Or you can just get a PS3. As for me, I dislike the PS3 and its games (even on the PS2). While it has Blu-Ray, I don't mind spending a little more just to add the HD DVD drive... perhaps in the future I will, not now.

I have both,Xbox 360 and PS3,same goes with Xbox and PS2.
Problem with PS3,there's no 'killer games' like Halo 3 is to Xbox 360... after a long wait,still no killer games, even the Japs got tired and went out to buy Xbox 360.

Now my PS3 is an added decor to the house,and becomes an expensive DVD player.

Technology aside, most basic players are looking for killer games. HD-DVD? Blue Rays...doesn't mean much for the masses, it the games title available.

IMHO, the days of Jap dominated games from the years of Nintendo are outnumbered. Sega close shop, Neo Geo did it long time ago,it won't be long before Nintendo throws in the towel.

There will be a lot of RPGs coming this year. , but buy or not buy still up to u.
