If the fur grows back, it would be very rough, isnt it? Or it would be softer? For humans, I have an understanding if you shave a baby botak, hair grow back will be softer. I was told that it's different for dogs. Anyone can clarify?

im not so sure, but last time i shave my ms bald, but their fur feels kinda the same just a lil bit rough than before....and on the side note i think our ms turn grey faster that way?

copyright thingy i havent study yet but in our this situation u might be using law of tort to sue me if there's any negligence for me to take care of your babies, but then...before this i said i wont held any responsibility towards them if anything happen therefore you can't sue me under negligence of take care them...hehe...

Is true.Shave more the coat getting soft and color too.The show coat Miniature Schnauzer need in a stripped coat. But no easy. It need have to learn from exhibitor , breeder ,or profesional handle. if you really want bring for show. Must do that. stripped cost it is double with hard,wiry outer coat and short undercoat. I remember ricky is more black and hard coat. Ricky have show coat quality,but we unable to do stripping,now he color getting light.
At KL have vendor do stripp for service.the price about rm 400-500.they also sell Miniature Schnauzer puppy Show quality. if have $ can get one. If you get a quality Miniature Schnauzer is diffent with our dog.

Thanks for replying. I am not so concerned about the color as my dog is white. I just want to know if it's softer or rougher. My poor dog is kinda having thin hair on the head, which makes him look less like a West Highland White Terrier.

You're saying a little more rough. I was thinking shaving him and regrow might help with growing thicker and smoother hair.

On the contrary to j3ffm0n post above, you say it's softer. My dog, West Highlands also needs to be stripped - I am aware of that but that's not my main concern now. What I want now is for him to grow more fur on the head.
1. Feed more flaxseed and fish oil for nicer fur
2. Shave him bald as I think it applies to dog as it applies to human, if you shave your leg hair, more will grow from it. So if we shave the dog, more will grow from it?

Hahahaha.. some theory eh? I probably give it a shot after CNY - still considering.

Digitral! Glad that you're here. Have you ever shaven your dog bald or seen / feel / watch anyone who did to their dogs? How did the fur turn out to be? Some people tell me rougher, some tell me softer. I dont even know which is true.

every Ms body top will shave botak..& i feel the new fur grow will be softer .
my gf did shave my LuiLui body top botak only..and the fur really turn out softer

Some people dislike Miniature Schauzer,because too noise.bark like hell.that why Miniature Schnauzer getting name as noise dog.Bark.............barks................ bark .nobody like them.If they see other like dog or cat.more bark................cannot stop.Onwer must feel shame cannot control the dog barking at public area.

hmmm maybe i didnt apply those fish oil etc etc...maybe thats y i felt their fur rough abit? i said it was rough bcoz i compared their fur(mojo&puffy) with their son(beebee) which was taken care by my friend...mojo and puffy's fur felt like carpet while beebee's felt like soft wool

Miniature Schnauzer not eat much, I giving them the best Nutrition dog food.
