yo myth, i am definitely not a professional players too. hey, by the way, professional players are sponsored most of the time, meaning that they get their sport equipment (including racquets) for free within the contract period.

afham07, perhaps the nanospeed 6000 is not from yonex. look carefully.
yonex doesnt produce nanospeed 6000, instead only nanospeed 7000, 8000 and rumoured 9000, nanospeed 7000 starts at about RM600.00 |

swgiant, you can always get the cheaper yonex, not necessary to go for the expensive ones. the yonex MP 2x series are not that expensive. i would prefer getting yonex even it cost more rather than buying some copycats. APAC released their nanopower 7000 even before the arrivial of the nanospeed 7000 and the colors and design are almost similiar. later on, you can see bunch of others with slightly different name but following the design.. sometimes i wonder, is it only color coating or they actually use the similiar material as yonex's??... well, not to say these apac, fleet racquets are not good, but it makes me wonder....
afham07, i have the Yonex MP66 and i got it for more than RM300 in kuching, so i guessed the price you got is quite reasonable. i used the BG68Ti on this racquet. i can say it is too light for me. well, i didnt use it at all since the day i bought it. hahaaa, bought it as a spare racquet only. |

hmm carb 20 tour and carb 5? i believed both racquets have being around for quite sometime. instead of carb 20, i would rather get the carb 21 special, cheaper and a nice racquet (to me). dont know much about carb 5, but should be slightly heavier than carb 2X

swgiant, yonex mp 2x is not that heavy. i tried that out before, of course the word "heavy" is very subjective here. whether it is frame heavy, balance or etc.... however lighter racquet not necessary suit a person....
the difference i can tell between carb 21sp & 21 special is the thickness of the shaft. 21 special has thicker shaft. nanospeed 7000 and 8000 are arrival soon to kuching, and another yonex racquet that cost about RM1399.00 which is not nanospeed series... i wonder what racquet is tat. perhaps the limited edition of the armortec 800 series. cant wait to see the racquet |

actually, never hold a racquet at the same location on the grip. it has to be flexible and you can adjust your grip either when u stroke, smash, or stalking in front of the net and backhand.. therefore, u can move your palm up and down the grip, depending on your needs.
and using very high tension is not necessary the solution and high tension on certain racquet might be too much stress for the racquet and the wrist of the owner. using mp66 with 26lbs might be a bit too much for the mp66 to handle. yonex recommended about 22lbs for that racquet. |

normal is way below 26lbs. NEVER listen to the shopkeepers. some times, they dont know and simply giving advice for the sake of giving one. just make sure the you are comfortable with the tension and you can try to increase it by 1 or 2 lbs after you get use to the current tension. of course, you can always stick to the 22-24lbs range.
i dont really need that high either. if your wrist is strong, 22-24 is good enuf. |

guys, just saw the newly arrived Armortec SB -limited edition with serial number, certificate of ownership (signed by Yonex PResiden , Japan) , a hologram- plastic warranty card (credit card size), a big black bag with sponge inside. Only 5000 pieces in the world. I think i am going to get that but the price is retailed at RM 1399.00 in kuching

myth, i shall do that if i get it.
Swgiant, thats the reason i bought the MP66. It is kinda risky to use even my armortec 800OF when playing double. I use cheaper racquet if playing with someone new and never partner before. But since that my wilson hypercarbon 6.5 broke few months ago, i have to use the OF more often. somehow i just could not get use to MP66 (maybe too light for me). and this is the major turn off for me when i saw the nanospeed 8000 which has head light balance (same as MP66) however, i think if i get the Armortec SB-LE, i will not even string the racquet for quite some time. hehee |

for equally priced racquet, i would rather stick to yonex.
crashing racquets with partner and the racquet survived doesnt mean the racquet is durable. You might be surprised that some racquets actually broke because of the shuttle hitting it right at the edge of the frame and of course also contributed by "internal injuries". The racquet might look ok after a crash but it might break few months down the road. Afterall, it is made of graphite and racquet with high tension has bigger risk. |

guys,
there ARE differences between those clones (APAC, FLEET, etc) which are similiar to certain models from yonex, for example the amortec series, TI series. Handling and the feel are different too. and perhaps, to a certain extend, the composition and material used might also be different. And if u even come across the clones, and the actual armotec 800 OF, try looking at the structure and the arrangements of the rubber stubs where the string pass thru' and i believed they are not the same arrangement and design. (correct me if i am wrong) I am using both amortec 800 Of, Armortec 700 and now, newest edition , the MP-66. Myth, i have decided not to buy the Amortec limited edition as the color is not really attractive at all. Perhaps i am buying a nanospeed 8000 or another Amortec 800OF instead. well, i really love the Amortec 800 OF. heberton, the quality should be alright with the taiwan/china made Yonex racquet. They are manufactured under licensed. However, usually u can find them on the isometric series and the lower range muscle power series (MP20++) xpensive ones are normally from japan itself. |
