azman, i am not a badminton seller, i am an end user like you too. buying a lot of racquets and i already quoted the racquets that i have in the previous post.
However, i had used MP99 before and i am now using Armortec 800Of (for few months) and i feel that MP99 is heavier and i am more comfortable with armortec 800 and the armor 800 gave a better handling. MP99 felt more like Armortec 700 (which i hardly used anymore)
since that u want to buy an expensive racquet, i am just looking at the pro-and cons, thats why i suggested buying an armortec 800 instead of MP99 which is already more than 1 year old model (if i am not mistaken). Afterall, it is an additional 100-200 ringgit. Looked at what Myhat has mentioned, for about RM700, u can get an armortec 800 with bag, string & grip + free socks. i think it is worth it.
Armortec 800 Of & DF are designed specially for double-play.

i saw cab30ms before in the shop and thinking of buying that. but the price is more or less at Ti-10 level or even Armortec 300. for the muscle power frame and long shaft(if i am not mistaken) is not really worth it for me. might as well go for something like Ti-10 or even cheaper, MP-66. but thats my preference
i dont know about the wilson v4 but i am also waiting for the price of N1 (ncode series). i used the wilson hypercarbon 6.5 (one of my favorites) and 9.0. i really loved the 6.5 but i broke it. now i am awaiting the arrival of the n1.

one advice, go to a shop where the taukeh is also a badminton player and string his own racquet or his customer racquets. i dont trust my racquet with a sales girl or anyone else. sometimes, you have suspicion on the actual tension of the string even when u tell them to string at 25Lbs but it doesnt feel like one. This is because sometimes, the fellow who string the racquet does it half way and leave it for something else or pergi minum with friends.. chit chat... etc. better to finish it one go.
and sometimes, it is the machine itself, the spring coil that control the tension of the machine is not in good condition or it is not calibrated/tuned properly
preferably use a good string if you want higher tension.

as i said.... as long as u like the service.. but i string my racquet at the shop where i bought it and the taukeh string my racquet himself. Friendly guy too.

nola. actually it is the way they string the racquet and where they start to insert the string and how they loop it in and out of the frame.

try BG68 TI at 22Lbs. i am using that for quite some time now. too high tension is also not good for your racquet frame and also your wrist & arm.
i heard that official BAM tension is about 22-23 only

"be honest to yourself and if u think you r not good at it..22lb is good enough..25lb++ is for the competitive ones..the concept is the same as overclockers...u want a regular one, stay with the original setting..you want the fullest from your racket..take risk..of cos..calculated one..my experience..26-27lb is still ok for any racket so far..whether its rm100+ or rm200+.ask the guy doing the stringing and he'll tell you the same thing i told you..peace out ..majulah sukan untuk negara"
majulah sukan untuk negara sounded so lame
hmm.. i dont mind going beyond 25++lbs as u suggested but i rather stay within the limit of my racquet. well, the national players can afford to risk their racquets because they are sponsored. in addition, they are professional. they need to utilize every single advantage they can find on to win any game.
honestly, i am playing badminton out of a hobby and past time, and it is just a game to me. as long as i feel comfortable with it, i am fine. good or not good at higher tension is another matter altogether but accidentally cracking an expensive racquet after paying it with my own hard earn cash is something else i cannot bear with.
breaking a RM100-200 ringgit is nothing much to me. but risking breaking an armortec 800OF and breaking armortec 700 due to over tension is something that is my concern and for me , not a smart thing to do. honestly i am just playing safe.
overclocking a racquet? this is the first time i heard unless i mistook your meaning. well, if u took the term overclocking as in overclocking a pc, then it is far more complicated then just adjusting the orginal setting of the mobo. there are a lot more factors involved.
i dont know whether u have ever look at the rubber beads on the racquet frame and how the string "bite" into the beads and at a higher tension, u actually will see that the string actually bite thru' the beads and resting and biting into the frame itself. i have seen this on few RM100-200 ringgit racquets. by the way, do u mind sharing with us on what racquet you used so far? and what strings you used for such high tension?
the architecture of the racquet frame also play a very important role in determining the max tension for it. Of course the material also is another contributing factor. However, material use and the composition will also determine the weight distribution of the racquet / racquet frame. i noticed that there are certain racquets that has different sizes of grips and weight for the same model. this also (one way or another) influenced the max recommended tension. this is true for some racquets that i came across . if i am not mistaken, it happened to MP88 of the first generation, and second generation. well, i could be wrong.

i know the beads can be replaced and if i am not wrong, there are different grades of beads too. if tension is too high, even with the beads replaced before new string, it is still going to "bite" into the racquet frame.
and if you read my previous post, u will know i mentioned that skill is DEFINITELY IMPORTANT but however, pairing a good racquet with GOOD skill will enhance the play even more.
hey myhat, did u get the yonex nanopower 7000 ?

hey guys, i am playing with veteran players aged 40 to 50... its soo funny when i recalled the first time i played against these experienced players... i was practically "washing the court" for them.. i was "running" on the court.. but cannot reach the shuttle on time
so basically there is no shame to joining a group that plays better... it is the one way to learn and gain experience.
of course there is another way, get a coach!!

hey guys, latest info
i stumbled upon a review of yonex nanospeed 8000 & 7000. seems to me that 8000 is already in the market. judging from the both short reviews, i might just wait for 8000 and 7000 might be too light for me

azman, just wait for the both models to arrive and get the feel of them in the shop before you make any purchase. expensive racquets they are but not necessary "feel" right in your hand....
but remember that a clone will be forever a clone and i believed the material used in the clones compared to the orignal varies in composition and etc.

skymade, perhaps you can try to string whatever racquet you are going to buy to 22lbs first, rather than 25 lbs as suggested by myth. First, you might need some time to get use to a new racquet, and test it out with lower tension first. second, you yourself might not be able to get use to the "hardness" of 25lbs.
i believed the "flat head" is called isometric frame

hmm.. high tension string but lack of strong wrist will not help much. instead, it might cause injury to the wrist and you will find that its weird when you try to stroke but you stroke is not as good as you think it will be.
for me, a few ringgit different is not a big deal, rather customer service is also important. considering the fuel and time going for window shopping, the few ringgit doesnt matter much.
in kuching, i got my armortec 700 & 800 for 800++ each including BG68TI and the 18.90 grip. now waiting and waiting for the arrival of nanospeed 7000 or 8000 or both...
