FYI, Malaysia still has Copper Cable LOL, and copper cable no longer in production, so I wonder maybe Shitymyx get their cable from Uganda or something. That's like WWII cable lol

*
Just for your info, Malaysia has been upgrading the back bone connection from copper to fiber optic throughout Malaysia.

But the bottle neck is the connection between Malaysia's network with the outside world... Lol.....

naw i wonder does changing the government will do the job...

competent 3rd world country with 1st world country service my ass

doubt it, its the malaysian attitude thats the problem, not really government specific. in fact, if you ask me, our current government is prolly the best amongst the other candidates. would you rather have PAS? (lulz)

on densed area in KL/high profile areas perhaps, but theres still a lot of places (eg: my house) with crappy copper lines, and worse yet, faulty/aging ones. like the backbone connecting to my house, tmnut engineers also confirmed that its faulty, but they arent replacing it just for me, ggmuch.

as such, i suffer from DSL signal loss time to time, but thank god for linux route. Before using this i am GUARANTEED to dc. but right now, AFTER SO MANY signal losses, i only dc'ed TWICE! (per day AT LEAST 1-2 times signal loss at random)

that saved me a TON of un-nessesary arena rating losses, as you may already know, i only gain 1-5 rating per game, and per loss is 20-30 ratings up the ass.

screenshot as requested by king83 and aaltong. sorry if it is too small. i try to squeeze everything in one window. usually i would torrent on one machine, video streaming on a 2nd machine, and wow on my laptop. but for showing the latency that i get which runs all the application simultaneously, i try to run and fit in everything on one machine. i screenshot everything as soon as i come back from office. around 6pm time. shows you 4 window. my streamix IP, the streaming video which my sis always watch. sorry it wasn't anime, but it was Japanese drama. also show you the warcraft screen (the latency is at the top right corner), and torrent. unfortunately i cant proof to u that the Japanese drama is actually streaming and not some static video. all i can say is that the streaming video is actually streaming without any lag.

1st screenshot.
time = 6pm.
wow = 270ms. (looks like its lower than what i told previously which is 350ms at peak time)
torrent = download 26KBps/upload 11KBps. (ok ok i told you i always get 40KBps, looks like it yoyo between 25 KBPS to 40KBps)
streaming = High Kick episode 4.

Attached Image

2nd screenshot.
time = 6.05 pm.
wow = 266ms. (very stable eh)
torrent = download 30 KBps/upload 11KBps. (very unstable, but still, its lingers around 30KBps)
streaming = High Kick episode 4.

Attached Image

3rd screenshot.
time = 6.11 pm.
wow = 266ms. (wow it didnt move)
torrent = download 28 KBps/upload 11KBps. (hmm looks like it stays around here)
streaming = High Kick episode 4.

Attached Image

4th screenshot.
time = 6.13 pm.
wow = 260ms. (nice!)
torrent = download 45.5 KBps/upload 11KBps. (yikes! suddenly fast)
streaming = Legend of Guan Gong Episode 3. (Change movie)

Attached Image

5th screenshot.
time = 6.15 pm.
wow = 260ms. (hmm. i wish its faster)
torrent = download 37 KBps/upload 12KBps. (play2 around there already)
streaming = Legend of Guan Gong Episode 3. (is this japanese or chinese soap opera?)

Attached Image

i will try to ss everything again after midnight and see if it is faster smile.gif

I completely agree here. A lot of the problem that Malaysia has, is with attitude. Its not easy for the government to change a people's mindset, but when the govt itself refuses to even acknowledge there is a mindset problem, then forget it, its just not going to work.

Oh and it isn't actually Blizzard's fault for the bad connection oceanic players suffer. Nagle's algorithm is a very important backbone to when the internet was growing and is still needed today. It is however, their fault that they did not realize that their game takes so little bandwidth that it is basically useless. To the credit of their network programmer however, it is not something people would normally consider.

To the OP: If you are experiencing bad pings to even www.yahoo.com, try to ping your gateway. I find that often, even my gateway has pings of 500-700+ms. If you get that, it is definitely on TMnet's end. Really not sure what causes them so much problems.

Switch to my laptop and my previous FPS issues went away. M1210 Dell laptop that isn't as powerful as my desktop. Now Shattrath is at 40 fps from 14 fps and SSC/TK went from 1-3 FPS to about 30-40 fps.

And streamyx connection now very stable after they gave me a better IP. This was after 4-5 days of phonecalls and waiting. And literally tantrum a wee bit.

Now reinstalling WoW.

Postnote : no registry fix or using VM Server. Using Vista though.
