Yes, but using Nokia Maps I never encountered these problem and its much accurate when it comes to positioning, more accurate than Malsing. But u need to pay for the Navigation la. Map detail wise still Malsing is better.

Ohh really? are you based in HQ? Did you check out the explorer hub there?    may I ask you which GPS you prefer? Nokia Maps or Garmin? Pay or no pay? U know what I mean using Nokia map you need to pay but will be charged as VAS (Value Added Service SMS)  For me I trust nokia maps navigation more. After all we don't care of the VAS charges as long as its under the budget rite 

Btw, whats you mean by clean up? Is there any tool for doing that? I can see my phone internal memory is growing slowly everyday.

V 11.0.117 = Firmware version. All language share the same version (generally)
10-12-07 = Firmware release date.
RM-313 = Firmware code for N82
Nokia N82 (12.01) = Your region, i.e. determine which language pack NSU will auto-update.

You can manual set the region code to others using NSS, but a bit risky if you are unsure what you are doing.

Note: My SG unit, version above supports B.Melayu, Chinese, EnGLand

guys i need help. i just bought my n82 yesterday. i tried user dzi921 method of installing garmin mxt + malsing maps in the first page . i followed step by step carefully and manage to install it. but i realise whenever i put my memory stick back into the phone the phone will hang or go very slow. Anyone knows why? and how to solve this.. pls help.

I think this is Nokia so called security feature for all the newer N series, to prevent ppl from taking xxx photos/videos, upskirt, etc.    i.e. camera shutter will always have sound, and video red light will always on.

Before this the housing fits perfectly just like the other two sides(upper right and bottom right. Totally cannot see the gaps. Went for service de becomes like this  . May be i shoud use it until the black housing arrives. Don't want them to stratch the housing de with more open marks.

What's the best music player application for n82 right now? I find the built in one not good enough...

Plan to get this phone next month, just wonder when the black edition going to launch in Malaysia, cause it look cool.. Any news? Or it wont have it, the model for specific country only?

For those who wants to know what's the difference between N82 Silvre and N82 Black.

Can you spot the differences?.

Other than the obvious color difference. Two software features update like:
- Geotagging: adds location information to images when they are captured (if want install LocaltionTagger will do)
- FlashLite 3 support enables the viewing of Flash video content from web based services (rumor says the browser supports Flash sites, which means can directly play flash contents from the browser)

Both can be installed in the Silver version already. The rest are exactly the same. So can say no much difference other than the color.

this is the best update for n82 so far.i can now watch youtube on its on nokia standard web browser.even though its video quality is not as good as emtube app,but at least now i can they other flash websites besides youtube.hehe.but the update size really lebih lo.last time my n73 update file size only around 70mb.115mb is too big,which makes the updating process much scarier cos its longer

Should I use Opera Mini Generic Version ? Or closest like N95 version ?

The N95 should work, I'm using the beta version anyway, and also Opera Mobile.

Update: Upgraded to SanDisk 8GB micro-SDHC. Bought at PC Fair RM169 (in my RM155-175 range). Comes with SanDisk MobileMate(tm) Micro Reader


Already copied all rubbish from old memory card 

16GB SD = yes
16GB micro-SDHC = no

Even 8GB micro-SDHC, only the SanDisk booth (first hall) is selling it. The rest only selling 4GB micro-SD max.    I'm a bit disappointed with the vendors not stocking up and selling it. But disappointed cured viewing the promoters around... 

Mine is Class 4

IINM, Class 6 for 8GB micro-SDHC is not out yet.
16GB micro-SDHC estimate to come out Q3/Q4 2008, which may delay to Q1/Q2 2009.

i tried twice, and faced the same error, nokia service layer failed to work.

My friend just bought a N82 but the centre button is quite loose... Izzit like that 1?

@ tzethye >> well I've noticed that the new firmware, on my phone causes applications to hang more often. i.e. when I receive a new sms, if I click the keys immediately (as like 1 second time), the messaging app will sometimes hang.

The new garmin + new firmware still got the problem of when I rotate, it will sometimes hang and fail to redraw the map. Very annoying when I'm at a junction and it hangs and I won't know which way to go. In addition the new Jan map ... for some reason it won't go into 3d mode at all ...
