QUOTE(myaho2 @ May 16 2008, 12:22 PM) how much do they weigh?A helmet can save your life. Your local bike shop should be able to fit you with a quality helmet if you don't already have one. But never buy a used helmet, because small micro-cracks that aren't visible to the naked eye can still compromise their safety. Even if a helmet has been kept in excellent condition, it should be replaced every few years; helmets lose efficiency over time (check with your helmet manufacturer for details This post has been edited by dickybird: May 16 2008, 09:18 PM |

this morning, washed my street wheels and tires, put on my mavic Xrides and boy did my jamis look sexy! sexy! then went to lunch, the lunch of champs grilled chicken foldover at mcd in sri damamsara! went home for a nap and then i filled up my camelbak and rode from my place to FRIM about 7,5km and then climbed the main trail up to the pondok to go up to the canopy walk and then went down the other side of the waterfall. twice! met a couple of guys, joe and beh did one loop with them, they rode in from selayang. so hi to them. and then i saw this other guy bombing up and down the same loop. he was fast or maybe i was just rusty! haha |

QUOTE(me0wSter @ May 19 2008, 09:53 PM) that is the point, there is so much grip there is drag! maybe all mountaineers need to air volume. i weigh about 66kg with camelbak and running about 34psi, so maybe need more pressure so it will roll faster. |

QUOTE(adioz88 @ May 24 2008, 11:21 AM) try kenda kontender 1.0, i have had them for about 400k now and so far no puncture and only one blowout as i rode across a draingrate and managed to unseat the tyre bead causing the tube to come out and blow.it is fast, almost slick design rolls fast and grips well. not bad in the wet, only ever fell down once when turning on a rainsoaked cement floor in my basement carpark but then what tyre would not do that. of course being such a thin tyre you be careful when approaching drains and the comfort level is not going to be high but the speed is very good. i use it for my commute to work. Added on May 24, 2008, 1:10 pm QUOTE(scotty @ May 24 2008, 12:16 PM) a quick and stupid 1. front left brake lever controls the front or the rear brake? mine is left lever = front brake. correct ah? haha, mine is reversed! right is front and left is rear.since you will be using the front brake most of the two, because it is the more powerful of the two then i think you would want it controlled by your dominant hand. at least that is my rationale.
