I lost my key for my bicycle lock(bought from carrefour, suppose to be a motorcycle lock,RM19.90)

Now it is attached to my bicycle. I was thinking of using a hammer to break the head but I thought it won't really work and even if it worked its a not-so-good solution.

Any forummers or bikers encountered this problem before? any solutions? can the locksmith settle this for me? Any locksmith here can give some guide?

Sheldon Brown, Web's Cycling Guru, Dies
By Jenna Wortham February 05, 2008 | 7:41:41 PM
Text by Ryan Singel
Sheldon Brown, a beloved iconoclast bicycle tech guru, died Sunday from a heart attack. He was 68 63.

Brown championed fixed gear bikes for years before they became essential fashion items for hip kids in New York and San Francisco and had a nearly encyclopedic knowledge of obscure bike parts, odd tire sizes and non-standard gear ratios. He was known for his generosity in helping DIY bike builders with their projects, for his love of weird old bikes, and his passion for cycling.

Brown had been suffering from multiple sclerosis since 2005, which kept him from riding any of his dozens of two-wheeled bikes since September 2006. Brown is survived by his wife and two adult children.

Brown worked as the technical guru and Webmaster for Harris Cyclery in West Newton, Massachusetts. In columns for cycling magazines and in essays on his blog, Brown championed bike technology that he loved - internal hubs, fixed gear bikes (including a fixie tandem) and homebuilt tandems. He gently ridiculed the current marketing rages of the cycling world (carbon fiber, titanium, racing bikes for everyone, etc.) every April 1 with fake new product announcements such as a titanium credit card with holes drilled in it to reduce weight.

Brown's decidedly non-fancy website was a vital resource for cyclists, rich with hints on how to break in a Brooks leather saddle, technical explanations of the workings of 60 year-old internal hubs, and instructions on how to build a tandem from two old steel bike frames. Brown even lauded Shimano's much maligned Biopace chain rings (a non-round chain ring once made by Shimano).
may you RIP Mr. Sheldon Brown....

Well it totally depends on how much you are willing to burn your pockets with.. Those guys recommend FOx coz its reliable, plushness and ease of use...

I have a few T-Bolt rider using different forks.. Some are using Talas 32 and 36, RockShox Revelation or Domain, Marzoochi 55 also quite good...
My previous TBolt uses Magura, RST, Revelation, Talas 32 and lastly DNM Volcano (Double crown fork)

You might want to look for better forks as you can use for maybe your next bike...

Bro...wat to ask you since you gone thru quite a few forks....does it make a load of difference i.e the more expensive the forl the better it is....

Are you planning to save the lock??..If not...suggest you drill the key slot ...that should release the lock ..

Nightstalker has a 'signatured frame' but not sure if he wants to sell off. Haha..

For below RM500 can get those Tank hardtail frames, but other brands probable maybe KONA, GT, Proton, Scott, SARS or similiar.

This looks nice.

When you are talking about forks, it is the 2nd most expensive stuff on the bike...

The difference between those forks are basically depends on how you ride, and how much you've got to spend, and whether you like to spend your time tinkering with your bike.

If you are a cross-country rider, get a fork with 3-4 inches of travel. Make sure it has compression and rebound damping. More expensive models are lighter and more adjustable.

If you don't like tinkering with your bike, a coil- sprung fork is better than an air-sprung one. Cheaper forks tend to be a bit heavier, lack some of the adjustability of higher end forks. With forks, "better" usually means lighter and has more available adjustments. remote lock-out etc..

If you've found one that you like, check out the user reviews of that fork on mtbr.com to make sure that there aren't any known problems with it. Typically, anything new will have some minor teething problems in the first production run.

Hmm.. either that or you can go to a exhaust shop and get them to cut it using a blow torch.. Make sure it does not 'kena' your frame...

I think maybe it's time you should opt for double-crown forks..

dude.. you can either get a 2nd hand frame from BBS or visit any local LBS near you or you can get a replica frame.. For colours, maybe you can have it sprayed at any car spray shop for RM150..

Basically for Rm500, you maybe can get some KHS, SARs, LeRun, Specialized replicas...

Well... comparing a RM300 and RM1000 fork, the difference is alrady a lot, but the price differs so much also! and a Fox costs nearly 2k!
Answer is, difference is a lot, but with every slight better performance, the price goes up a lot.
