So has anyone got ban for their modded fan before jumping on the hatewagon?? This is still just rumour & theory, banning over voltage is pretty...hard, what about places with fluctuating supply voltages.

What i heard is US pro-gamers Fatality got ban from Xboxlive, and Microsoft is in the process of unbanning people due to 'massive feedback'.

If one can understand how the Microsoft banning works i wouldn't have start going legit on 360.

I just got my 2nd time 3ROD back from Djinn and I think he did the 12V fan mod to my box. For the time being, I've disconnected my 360 from the LIVE. If i get banned for having a 12V fan mod, I'm modding/flashing my 360 DVD drive. Why support ori when they screw u from behind right?

since it was pretty clear that people get banned because of the fan mod, better don't online till u fix it. get an external power adapter to connect the fan to.

But if you have a fluctuate voltage is dangerous for your console. It happen to my Xbox twice and it will show 3rod sign. I think rat went and bite my wire on top of my roof because tikus ever night running up and down in the roof.

But still screw MS. I'm going PS3 next year.

I'm not sure external fan will get ban or not because I'm using it. Can't stand the amount of heat inside collecting in the console.

Yup there is a reason i said that because it happen to me. My 360 3ROD 2 weeks ago due to fluctuate voltage in my old house. My PC video card also spoiled few months back. Not to mention the enourmous amount of lightbulb i've changed. Now move to new house.
Just got my 360 back yesterday from service center, not ban or anything. (changed motherboard & Dvd drive...very quiet now.)
If fan mod will result in banning, 60% of local users will be ban, so has anyone with fan mod but no firmware mod gotten ban yet?

I just think it's abit bizzare to believe this because it's unproven and remain a fan's theory (only one source). Until it's proven, better keep things optimistic like last time how ten of thousands people complaining to MS customer service that they didn't mod their console and get ban (which in the fact is not true).
The unban to banned console cases are confirmed though...

Youre a pain in the ass man. XBL has no competition. XBOX Live is 10000 times better than PSN bro, no doubt about that. And its going to be like this for million of years to come. PS3 is a joke,at least for now.

I just read a news recently those modded console some of them which are ban are unban.

There is a theory that your lens has a limit life. Once the life has pass, they will record all kinda of funny stuff and MS can't sort it out properly. So maybe they mistake ban unmodded console they revert the and make it unban.

Well, not all hope can be put in.

I'm not interested about PSN.

I'm only interested in the single player games. Most of my time in PS2 I have played a lot of single player games. So goes to PS3. In future, PS3 might still have the best single player games compare to Xbox 360. For example, FF 13, MGS 4, Kingdom Heart 3 ?

I bought Xbox 360 for Live and PS3 for single player.

I thought "modding" no matter what on Xbox is "illegal" ? I thought there is a "proper" way to get it fixed ? Proper meaning "send it back and get it fixed, with no mods" ?

ps : Don't accuse me... coz' I'm always at xbox.com (the "legal" site... I guess)

i got nothing to worry about, even with 12V fan mod my console 3rod for 3rd time anyways, time to save up for elite.... can't be bothered to fix it anymore... stupid box.

LOL...if they can give lifetime warranty..then OK... ban all those modded fan users.if not,they better dont dig their own grave.

1. Go and look for what is the meaning of modding.

2. Go and try Cod 4, Assassin's Creed and Mass Effect before you start saying Halo 3 is the best.
