So far, no expiry. Touch wood.

The longest single MBB CC I hold is ~3 yrs. I keep on cancel and apply new one when they start charging annual fees. But now, I'm using Flexx, must spend min RM300/mth which I use for insurance auto-debit.
*
RM300/month? wa...one year oso need RM3.6k. why not try public bank? RM3k per year can waived ur annual fees

QUOTE(hpares @ Dec 24 2007, 11:54 PM)
Hi guys, I got some serious issue regarding credit card transaction which need more information on it. I work on some sort of retail shop, and one day my colleague doing credit card transaction with  a customer which require credit card pin verification. After the customer key in the pin and the transaction is approve, we as usual asked the customer to sign on it. But the customer insist not to sign on it because he say he already key in the pin. Our credit card merchant is the big fat black colour 1 which able to see how much credit card roll u left, like giant supermarket 1. Because last time got such case happen b4, our account department wont give a damm. But this time they say it needs customer signature and asked my colleague to pay for it because failed in getting the signature. Even though on the slip already have the words, "pin verification completed".
So those who working in credit card department or bank, please explain to me. Did the signature require? Last time they inform us no need 1 and now different story. And some other question, during entering the pin, if the pin entered wrong, will the card be decline? or the transaction still will be approve with the words "pin verification completed" ? Because only the card holder know the pin. So whoever know the detail please clarify this. We juz working according to the procedure that given.
*
well, even the customer key in the pin he still need to sign on the transaction. if didn't sign it's consider void. the pin just liked a password, only for security purpose, no others usage. So die die also need customer sign, or else have to pay yourself. This happen before when i was working in England Optical few years ago.
Hope i was answering your question

Seems like the CC is being used as an ATM card, which is very common in SG.  but you have to tell the staff where to charge, they can't simply jus charge and thePIN is the authorising code to transaction... some how, some where, some one done something... not sure ... what the hell is wrong... didn't know so troublesome.. never experince this kind of thing before.

Seems like many blur people serving customers and not knowing what is going on... scary man... because I used it often when in MY. I had this experience recently at Guadians.  The sales staff swipe card and then tell me it can't be used because it requires a microchip on the CC.  Something new to me as I had used it at Mid Valley Guardians... strange... that it can't be use.  Another at TESCO on monday, staff ask supervisor to come because he felt... that's whatappear to me, that my HSBC card is fraud... he was looking "inside" out wondering and when supervisor came, she immediately swipe the card and get my purchase progressed after taking one look at it.  in fact, I am goignt o write in to HSBC SG and ask them as I had few looks by staff serving me when I used the CC.

nowadays, almost every banks' credit card can be used as ATM card. But customer can choose want to apply or not. Well, it's depends on customer usage la. If lazy take many cards in wallet, of cos will apply.

the requirement to apply credit card is lower... as long as u got rm1.5k salary and above, can apply already... singapore needs at least sgd2.5k and above, i have no prob getting credit card in sg... i have 8 banks credit card in sg.... tongue.gif  tongue.gif

but it's harder to apply malaysia credit card if working in sg.... but lucky... my HSBC application is approved.. now waiting for citibank one to approve.. more than 1 mth liao still no news...

I think u are over-reacted already la.... malaysia credit card all comes with the EMV chip, and I think the cashier there is getting used of not swiping the card, but by reading it instead.... that's why they would think that urs is fake card... somemore malaysia HSBC credit card and sg HSBC credit card are of the same design, the staff maybe just overlooked it only...

I used my OCBC Titanium card, UOB Platinum card (comes with EMV) and DBS Black card in JB... no prob @ all.....

ur citibank is apply in sg or in malaysia? n ur HSBC card is applied in sg or malaysia? impossible 1month still no news wor...
