I am using the maybank visa flex to do shopping (buy cloths) in vietnam just now.
And guess what?! It can not be processed. it is using the swap method, well, as normal, not like malaysia, vietnam still very new to EMV terminal. i dun know it is the issuer or acquirer's problem. No choice, i give cash lol. Then, i went to second shop. I try to pay with credit card again and this time, it is OK. Well, gain back some confident for maybank. Btw, the second shop use the emv method. |

QUOTE(David83 @ Jan 30 2008, 05:20 PM) i think the 2% rebate is very good deal. since it is regardless of the carry forward balance.Maybank need me to do the redemption. edited: too bad the CIMB one does not come with paypass. This post has been edited by g00glesYYl: Jan 30 2008, 04:28 PM |

QUOTE(Aeon_Clock @ Jan 30 2008, 05:32 PM) plus, their rebate don't have promotional period...meaning it'll go on till after 31st July 2008, rite? i think so. for long term, it should be a good run. If the benefits is about the same. then we should choose base onAdded on January 30, 2008, 4:33 pm wah, 1X points also tak ada? VISA vs MASTER CARD MAYBANK vs CIMB do not know, the rhb, hsbc will launch the ESSO Card? since BHP was actually linked with UOB. |

QUOTE(WaCKy-Angel @ Jan 30 2008, 05:33 PM) I believe this Maybank card is a new technology.. aduh. It is PAYPASS + Visa WAVE = PayWave Meaning in future either paypass or visawave machine can accept both card.. Dont tell anyone i leak out this info if you need the terminal to be accept both vasa&mastercard, the terminal should be the one to be customized. Not the card. |

QUOTE(WaCKy-Angel @ Jan 30 2008, 05:44 PM) Hmm good point....im not sure, but maybe paypass didnt want to develop the new software so Maybank had to develop on their card? One card is either VISA (visawave) or MASTERCARD (paypass). Can not having the two account link inside one card. However, in theory, it can be done but not in business point of view, unless visa brought over mastercard lolBut anyway, its true in future all VisaWave terminal will able to accept Paypass too (this is sure coz my company is the only official VisaWave vendor in Malaysia) However, i agreed with you that in future all VisaWave terminal will able to accept Paypass too or the reverse way. this is the matter of time. |

QUOTE(WaCKy-Angel @ Jan 30 2008, 05:54 PM) Yup.. OK. you are trying to say...Oh now my brain is getting straight... For VisaWave to work in Paypass terminal, the card must have something to communicate with the terminal.. So does Paypass card to work in VisaWave terminal... So the point is not only the terminal must have new software but the card too... Soon u will see Mastercard with "PayWave" too Added on January 30, 2008, 4:55 pm Its not about the account, its about communication.. VisaWave and Paypass are just a form of communication between terminal and card. It has nothing to do with account. paywave mean u can use the card in paypass terminal and visawave terminal? may be i have missunderstand you just now. |

QUOTE(arsenal @ Apr 16 2008, 01:27 AM) Do you realise that when we swipe it take quite a few days to enter inside the our online one??i used CIMB and Maybank last week and found out that it taking quite long to enter into my online banking...=( This very much due to the merchant side. Normally, bank was waiting for the merchant to post the transaction, by then only post to the system. Some merchant post his accumalated transaction few days once, like shell. But some posting everyday, like petronas. |
