Sharp LC-42A63M

vs

Sony Bravia 40w400A

Which one of these is better? Is the Sony one worth the 1k more? Any opinions?

Sony: http://asia.cnet.com/reviews/home_av/tvs/0...2694421p,00.htm

Sharp:

the a63 (which i think in aus they call it d63) is pretty good. i'd vouch for it from what i've seen in the shops, compared to sony. i didn't have a side by side test though, but i preferred the sharp over the sony on offer. in the end i ended up with a d83 though, which IQ/PQ is pretty much similar to the d63 apart from the 100hz thinggy, which i honestly can't sense at all. hope this helps

Most 32" lcd tv can display 720p as long as u have a player n HDMI cable that support 720p.

Alright, thanks for the info. Actually I've been looking for reviews of the a63 online for the longest time but have found nothing. now that I know they're also known as the d63 perhaps I can find some more insightful information. Thanks a lot biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Hi, I own the Dell E248WFP 24inch LCD monitor.
May I know whether it's good for PS3?
As the ratio is 16:10 instead of 16:9, will the game be stretched or there will be black bars?

ok ive bought 3 1080p hdtv this month just for ps3 and some bluray movie premium.. ill share u my experience..

1. Philips 37pfl7432

dark images are badly handled and shadow vibrates, straight lines are jagged, but other than that its not bad.

2. Sony 40W300
much better improvement as compared to the philips in all areas. but shadows still vibrates.. color handling is just as good as the philips, though W series can handle dark scenes better... no problems with this tv..

3. Sony 40x300a
some what identical with the W series in every game i tried.. kinda got pissed that i spent money on this while getting no upgrade... then i poped in Open Season... all i can say.. OMG MOTION FLOW !!!!!!!!!!!

so... conclusion.. Sony W series is the best bang for buck 1080p lcd u can get... X series is only for u if u plan to watch blurays on ure tv...

well.. not really big for an 'awesome' viewing pleasure, just ok lah. obviously 22" is better. and pls bear in mind, LCD Monitors and LCD TVs are two different things.

LCD TVs = have speakers
LCD Monitors = usually dont have speakers (so u nd seperate audio system)
