either if u sit closer to the screen u wont notice that is any big pixel on the screen.( im talking that if ur eyes nearly touch to the screen then only u can see ) haha..the colour is fine , with this model u can adjust ur colour with CMYK mode..u can simply adjust the colour until u happy biggrin.gif , if u talking bout sharpness in gaming, yes it will do..i've no idea in blur ray disc..never watch movie for my ps3 b4 so i donno , but ive seen a demo disc from the technician before i purchase , yes it is sharp !! thumbup.gif

p.s by the way once u guys got a plasma 1080p fullHD TV , then the 2nd problem will come, should i buy an expensive HDMI cable like 'monster cable or wat' or juz buy a normal HDMI cable like panasonic, pioneer..etc..
yes go to the normal HDMI cable thats enough , i ;ve bought a monster HDMI gaming cable it cost me almost RM300 n end up found nothing difference between the normal 1 RM100++..so i suggest to buy a normal 1(juz my opinion, monster fans don kill me) rclxub.gif  whistling.gif

Sales person don't know.

Most shop TVs are set up like crap (even when they reach your house). Contrast, brightness and backlight they always put very high  doh.gif
I only have experience with the Samsung, but it's not a good one  sad.gif

QUOTE(Joey Christensen @ Nov 16 2009, 01:27 PM)
Yes you can. Mine is using a Samsung LCD monitor too.

Here's a quickie. Next month I'll be changing my Altec Lansing speakers. I was thinking of using Optical cable from my PS3 system to the speakers. Both my Console, LCD monitor and the speaker has optical output. Would I able to hook the things up by using optical? I'm trying to ditch the Yellow, White, Red cable (AV cable).

How about the quality of the sound? Better than using the typical AV cable?

Regards, Joey

p.s: Anyone has similar setting as mine? Would appreciate it if you are willing to share some information. Oh bummer! I'm getting an Altec Lansing MX5021. Is it any good? Advice is welcome. Thanks.

Guys, probably going to be getting a new LCD specifically for the PS3.

Gonna be at the top floor and i'll be sitting quite close to the screen. 2 meters maybe.

Leaning towards a 32 inch-er.

What brand and model would you guys recommend? Pricing? What's the most value for money deal.

Also, will a 32 inch show much difference if it supports 1080p?

Or will 720p suffice?

Suggestions please biggrin.gif
*
actually its depends on urself la... i m using FULL HD 32 inch now.. i feel its ok.. using it as dual monitor for PC to watch movie and for PS3...

QUOTE(dynames07 @ Dec 2 2009, 03:57 PM)
Hi guys.

Dunno whether this place is correct or not to ask question. Pardon my intrusion.

I'm planning to buy PS3 Slim and I wish to play it in HD mode. However, being a student, I don't have enough money to go for LCD / Plasma TV where from my observation, the price for this kind of TVs starting from rm1.5k. So, what should I buy to fulfill my wish? Any good monitor around rm400-rm700 that I should buy with HD capabilities?

Thanks ya.

u can try ASUS VH242H or VH222H, AOC 2434PW, u can search around lyn garage sales for it =)

Yeah, saw it. I have that one in mind. Your price was on promotion? If it was, any idea of the original best price?

Also thinking of this one, Sony KLV-32V550A, any idea if it's good and the price?
I saw your setup in the setup thread. Was that the 32?
*

I see. Heard you bugged a person for a year bout HD TV's, was it you? xD

Anyways, which one do you think i should go for if you have any idea.

Samsung LA32B550K1R or Sony KLV-32V550A
EDIT:
Above price range sad.gif

Any idea of the pricing for Samsung LA32B550K1R or Sony KLV-32V550A?
*
hahaa... its stated in this forum la... i asked ben for alot of advice.. thx to him i m really satisfied with my purchase...

from my opinion... sony is also good has natural color and nice picture quality... but the price is high... 32" V series is going for around RM2260 as i wanted to buy...
Samsung i m not sure coz i heard alot of bad comments... as in quality and easy break downs...

i would recommend the sharp 32A66M to u too.. the color and picture quality is good... or u can go for LG which the one i bought for RM1.7k.. the black levels and picture is as good as sharp or sony i think..

as few choices that u can consider within budget are

1) Sony KLV 32V550A around RM2260-RM2300
2) Sharp 32A66M around RM2000
3) LG 32LF25FR around RM1700+

Samsung has problems? Hmm, was considering the Samsung suggested by Sean.

My uncle's been using a Samsung for over a year and it still runs fine.

Isolated cases or a problem with all Samsung's?

May consider the LG and Sharp as well.
*
i m not sure bout samsung man... the samsung which i m really interested is the LED TVs.. and the 6 or 7 series LCDs.. 5 series and below doesnt seem promising to me... haha
but i can say is if u wanna save money

LG is best for that... RM1700 compare to most 32 FULL HD.. i save around RM300-400+++

actually i wanted to get the Sony one.. but think.. if save 400+ can get some ps3 games man.. ahhaha

Hmm, as for the money, below RM2000 should be fine. I'd rather get a Samsung over an LG though. Just for the fact that my uncle has had a good experience with it.

If I can get it for RM1880 like what Sean said then the Samsung is my choice I think. About 180 above the LG. Mum doesn't want the LG either. She likes Samsung tongue.gif

so with this u already have u answer on which to buy... haha =)
i like samsung too.. maybe the LED TV next time.. once it drop more in prices...
