i heard people said that you should buy a good stock, wait for it to grow, release it after a few years to earn.

but i think this very seldom happened in US stock, which mostly speculation.

the price is not based on the quality of the company.

C, with "too big to fail" theory, should gain in long term, accordingly, seeing that it began to have earning..

picture is for fun la, coz i feel tis thread going around in circles cool2.gif no offense...
errmmm... how define price not based on quality of company?
i tot buffet says short run stock is weighing mesin but in long run is voting mesin? dunno la, sumting like tat gua rclxub.gif
but the momo would have done their own analisis to justify buying, holding or exiting it
thus the price would reflect a willing buyer & willing seller transaction... until we find a suker to hold the bag laugh.gif

wanna enquire? the clue for enron collapse came via FA or TA? anyone recall this old strong leader news?

usa its liquid & mature market, if u use klse mindset, the price movement make u feel its speculation
sample of some good stock below
any forever fans can extract its fair value? so tat readers can sit thru the roller coaster ride & tidur peacefully at nite
or u all prefer stay in klse playground brows.gif no offense...
coz usa thread may gulung tikar since few supporters... haha

The dollar in the near future, expect failure. You can invest in euros or Japanese yen. Also good prospects for the Chinese yuan.

eur/usd, wekly schedule.
Trend upwards. Price above the clouds Ishimoku, Tenkan above Kijun, Chinkou span higher prices. In the situation, selling might be dangerous and unprofitable, better to buy on price rollbacks.

Price rose next, a rather strong resistance line, which was a support line since January 2002. The first test breaking this line a couple of weeks ago was not successful, the price pushed off and jumped back a little. V now formed a triangle, a breakthrough line of the triangle in which either side will determine the future direction of this pair.

Vertex123, interesting information, though we are supposed to talk about stocks and bonds here.
I'd like to contribute a few words too: awaiting the fall of dollar is reasonable, 'cause the main idea of the USA is to "sell" dollar at high price and get it back at much lower (many has been already said and written on the subject). However I wouldn't say Chinese currency is worth investing either - though there are some news about the recovery in the country but the ways this has been achieved show in fact, it is plain to see that there is slightly any “real” recovery (government spending force domestic demand, not foreign - their stock indices will soon fall again)

IMO, unless the Chinese govt takes steps to unpegged their currency from the Dollar and let it float, it is completely waste of time to invest in Chinese Yuan/Reminbi now.

danmooncake, i believe such a thing is quite difficult to execute as all the world economies are with the dollar. However as far as I know China has already made about 20% of all its banks state banks, so we might expect some interesting steps on the part of the government soon i believe

Yup, US jobless claims numbers came in good.. possibly one more day to ride up.

Everything is possible - remember, those are govt "cooked up" numbers. biggrin.gif

Jumped back into TNA 41.30 premarket, stop loss set @ 40.80 laugh.gif

I may join later. brows.gif LVS looks pretty attractive to short if it breaks above 18..(or just at 17.99) but I'll be watching S&P to tag the upper BB first. Bullish trend still in place. A bit of pullback now and better job numbers are attracting dip buyers.

why wondering? nowadays data is worth nothing - market conditions made possible speculations with data in order to make less "moves" - people will make it themselves

Actually, I love the data no matter how it is cooked up, hence why US is the best place to play the market. The "less bad" effect is still place since March lows. Couple with zero interest rate, higher commodities, lower dollar..that's why. But, I do expect dollar to level or bounce back a bit today after couple of days dropping crazy.

We shall see where the momentum takes us after open. Anything can happen, I do mean anything.
As usual, watching VIX, watching Dollar, watching Oil.. and the major Indices.

Good luck to all.

sorry, it worth nothing, because of the MEGA FACTOR - interest rate, which makes dollar cheaper to hold. Too much dollar, what you want to do? stash in your house? put in bank? buy properties? nope - hard to liquidate later on.

also means more dollar for a foreign currency. Say 10,000 EUR now can get 14,900 USD, last time can get only 13,500 USD. more USD, means more buying power.

BUY ON DIPS.. (if you have money to hold just in-case market U turn)

zamans98, hard to argue with you =)) so it seems that financial crisis hasn't influenced much those who can and wish to earn on it =)
i believe currency exchange is also has become more popular since the end 2008

Added on November 12, 2009, 10:28 pmzamans98, but when dollar reaches its critical level, dramatic consequence might appear - when USA gets all her dollars back, she (not she actually, though gvnmt) will try to palm it off back on us

my background is Finance and IT.. smile.gif

But if the interest rate inched up, then u can see the BEN EFFECT takes place. Uncle Ben is actually TOP 10 most influential person on earth right now. (shiat, he's Jewish).
That's why Mr. Cake targeting DJIA at 9000 level when the interest rate goes up. My target 9,200-9,500

Psst - look at INTC which have business outside US, making good profit when established FINANCIAL YEAR END report.. hehehe
