Vertex123, interesting information, though we are supposed to talk about stocks and bonds here. I'd like to contribute a few words too: awaiting the fall of dollar is reasonable, 'cause the main idea of the USA is to "sell" dollar at high price and get it back at much lower (many has been already said and written on the subject). However I wouldn't say Chinese currency is worth investing either - though there are some news about the recovery in the country but the ways this has been achieved show in fact, it is plain to see that there is slightly any “real” recovery (government spending force domestic demand, not foreign - their stock indices will soon fall again)

danmooncake, i believe such a thing is quite difficult to execute as all the world economies are with the dollar. However as far as I know China has already made about 20% of all its banks state banks, so we might expect some interesting steps on the part of the government soon i believe

why wondering? nowadays data is worth nothing - market conditions made possible speculations with data in order to make less "moves" - people will make it themselves

zamans98, hard to argue with you =)) so it seems that financial crisis hasn't influenced much those who can and wish to earn on it =) i believe currency exchange is also has become more popular since the end 2008
Added on November 12, 2009, 10:28 pmzamans98, but when dollar reaches its critical level, dramatic consequence might appear - when USA gets all her dollars back, she (not she actually, though gvnmt) will try to palm it off back on us

And which criteria do you take into account when trading? It's interesting for 'cause Russian market is so unpredictable that I decided to focus not on what's gonna happen next, the trend of price, but which step TRADERS are gonna take...

Vertex123, for how long have you been outta market? Maybe something has changed... Also it's difficult to take into account all the effecting factors, especially currency exchange rate (which in my view also matters and also unpredictable) - so many ideas and each of them may come true with at least 50% possibility

"ok, i'll take that into consideration for stock trading, but i need to go read up on forex to see how it is related" I believe the point was that forex depends more on stocks than stocks on Forex. However I believe these two markets are linked: when choose what to invest in you take into account all possible profits you may make

ozak, really think that these news really affect your trading process? (well, yeah, it does, what I meant was - authorities say smth and manipulate the market, people react, trends change etc., but I think these report are worth nothing) - opinions rule =)

"She's bearish now..for banks" - I believe there are some reasons to act like that - I've heard the data coming from the USA was not of the "expected" quality (labor market still weak, balance sheet fall by 36 bln...)
