see... u know the answer oledi but you try to make things hard. u feed your dog with dog food. then cat? you just them eating unhealthy food.

you see.. please balance your love towards your pet dog and cat. if u dont think u can afford keep the cat, then help them find a better home/adopter.

try to intro your dog to the kitten slowly..
i think they can be friends..there are cases where an orphan kitten drink dog milk. i saw it in video..the female dog took care of the kitten.. so it depends on your dog..try la train them first..intro them slowly...

having cat / dog are the same way... if your dog eat, drink, bath, poo poo in litter box, use collar, clip the claws, play balls... then cat also the same.

Added on December 16, 2007, 9:24 pmyou dont really have to bath the cat twice a week... because cat is a clean pet, they clean and lick their body every single day. but ofcourse they get smelly also lah.. who doesnt have bad body odor unless u wear perfume so you may need to bath them like once in 2 weeks - if you have indoor cat.
but if it is out and in door cat, bath frequently, else they bring germs/fleas/tick to your house.

from what i know cats cant eat food that contain much salt... people food (eg nasi lemak) usually contain much salt that is bad for the cat...

Animals cannot tolerate salt and fatty stuff like nasi lemak. Better if you feed them kibble, if you worry about money, you can go to a nearby pet store that sells kibble and ask for a few samples. Brands like Avoderm, Acana, Orijen, Royal Canin, Nutro are quite good. Get a few samples and then go buy a pack of Friskies Kitten food and mix together 50/50. Feed this mixture and they will grow nice and plump.

Dogs and cats CAN live together. You shih tzu is still a puppy, so what you can do is slowly introduce the kitten to your dog. Do not put the kitten on the floor, hold on to it at all times and let your dog sniff a bit. Keep the kitten in a room away from you dog. Let them get used to each other little by little.

You would need a litter box and a litter scoop and litter sand. For good brands I would recommend Orijen or Acana, but if you're on budget, Nutro or back to basics will do.

y not..? at my rent house got 1 mother with 5kittens..i tried feeding them the best i can 1 can 1 day...it just cost me rm2.90 per day..if you think you can save lifes and its legal do it friend!

If you worry about the cat/dog processed food, then go for those human grade ones like Orijen/Acana/Eagle Pack... But then you'll complain too expensive pulak I bet...
