Hows your GC doing so far? Mine having major issues, driver restarts and nvlddmkm errors. Really regret getting this GC. Now in RMA process.  sad.gif

mine is serving me good, considering that i overvoltage and oc my card for daily usage.. tongue.gif
btw aside from the hsf, our cards is virtually the same..

Performed well?... hmmmz.. it looks normal temp to me... now basically idle at 60'c (60% fan speed).

Tried 100% fanspeed, and the temp. at idle its 57'c... looks normal temp. that i see on those oem fan...  sweat.gif

Cheers tongue.gif
*
hurm idle at 60c??? kinda high considering that the zalman vf1000 has 4 heatpipes and larger fins compared to my vf-830 alcu on my 8800gt...
btw my gc idle at 50c smile.gif

Mine comes with 700/1700/1900. This card has been giving me lots of headaches. Keeps crashing while playing games and benchmarking with 3dmark06. I suspect as what zamanjaafar said, the qimondas ram chips. Already send mine for RMA.
*
ur gigabyte 8800gt is the one that uses vf-700alcu rite??
my 8800gt turboforce with vf-830alcu dont use qimonda ram chips...
instead samsung gddr3 is used instead..
but yeah the problem is caused by the qimonda chips..
i read in other forums that other ppl are having the same prob as urs...
and tro remedy it, they have to downclock the ram clockspeed.. hmm.gif

Yes, Winfast and Leadtek are basically the same. The Galaxy one is just going wild at RM729. Very nice price indeed. Is it the one with the 2 slot cooler?
*
but if not mistaken rm729 for galaxy is just the promo price rite??
i wonder what is the price if the promo ended

basically the main prob of pre oced 88gt is the memory..

btw i hope that palit can benefit from this acquisition as galaxy always makes the best non reference nvidia cards...

IIRC, the problem was with the previous Zalman fan version - VF700. Then, Gigabyte switch the HSF to the same version as what XFX is using and doesn't seem to have any problem though smile.gif
*
but the old problem which is the ram chips on the gc keep crapping out remains..
tho im using the newer gigabyte 8800gt with zalman vf-830 hsf, i have the same prob..
rite now my mem is not stable at all @ the stock 920mhz..
i dont know how this can happen tho my 8800gt uses samsung gddr3 chips compared to older gigabyte 8800gt with vf-700 hsf which uses qimonda doh.gif
btw... i decided to buy ecs 8800gt with artic cooling s1 from bata and then rma my gaygaybyte 8800gt and then sell it in garage sale sweat.gif

I have the same situation as yours. Mine was RMA once at Sri Comp. The unit was apparently send to Taiwan and came back to me with the same unit. Sri Comp told me it is fixed. Went back and check, still crashed after running 3dmark for 5 mins. Therefore I tried to down clocked the memory clock down to 600mhz. Voila, no more crashing at 3dmark. Run it for 1 hour, no problems. Played all other games, seems to be okie for now.
So an advice to everyone who wants to get 8800GT, avoid Qimonda chipset or Gigabyte GCs.
*
yup that's very true, rite now gigabyte should revise their 8800gt design and fix this problem..

QUOTE(tech_frix @ Apr 1 2008, 04:51 PM)
d latest Giga with VF cooler using samsung mem chips..
then if i not mistaken galaxy and palit oso..
*
tho the latest gigabyte 88gt with vf-830 uses samsung chips, the old problem still remains.. rite now im damn frustrated.. vmad.gif

QUOTE(Hyde`fK @ Apr 2 2008, 10:07 PM)
Should be DS3 supports 8800GT or not. Well ofcourse it does. It only depends if your PSU is able to power it up nicely or not.
*
yup that't true, as long as the mobo has a pcie 16x slot it should support 8800gt

Agreed...I'm currently using Gigabyte 8800GT Turboforce rev1.0...If I'm not mistaken XFX 8800GT Zalman also using the same Zalman fan, which is VF830. You can check the fan spec Zalman VF830.

Idle: 50 - 52c
Load: 62 - 63c (after an hour of gaming)
(this is the temp I got from RivaTuner)

BTW, RivaTuner states that the reference fan cycle duty is 100%, mean that the fan speed is spinning 100%. I try to set fan profile but it still show 100% all the time. Does this mean that I can't control the fan speed?
*
yup, the fanspeed for the zalman vf-830alcu hsf is fixed, which means u cant change it..
btw i think that the fan is spinning at around 2500rpm..

of course gigabyte zalman fan version.
*
that's apparently is a problem with the ram chips sitting on the gc...
heck even my card got this prob..
tho the newer gigabyte 8800gt uses samsung chips..
the problem which started on the older gigabyte 8800gt (which uses zalman vf-700alcu hsf) persists..
