maybe because the stock fan aint much of a cooler?
seriously if u need to lower more temp u need much more powerful cooler, aka aftermarket cooler.

ei.. so Zotac better or Gigabyte? i may plan to oc my comp also...
*
Zotac amp is suppose to be better because of the memory speed (2000Mhz) compared to Gigabyte (1900Mhz)
But still, you won't notice its differences in gaming. Only in benching.

Huhu even at stock speed with 12k score also satisfy liaw.Just wanna break the limit of the hardware.Hopefully wont break the card or cpu.

well, I just OCed the proc. The GC I left as what it is on factory overclocked. from 2.4Ghz to 3.2Ghz. Scored 14k. pretty good already. no need for supreme OC. flex.gif

hehehe...
its because you need to monitor the temp while load. Might as well do it while playing games like crysis. see how cool@hot this card can get.

do update on the card's capabilities and performances here.

have you tried the rivatuner fan speed setting?
*
it seems that gigabyte card can't use rivatuner to set the fan speed. That's what ppl talked before and I also didnt notice any changes from the fan speed ingame.

Did you on AA?
*
If I enable AA the performance will drop few fps.
I turned off AA for best fps. rclxm9.gif

Added on January 23, 2008, 4:46 pm@blurjoey, use the hardware monitoring in riva tuner. after u opened it, play a high performance games like gears of wars @ crysis, then after somewhile minimize n look at the temperature.

The OSD is quite ugly sweat.gif
I'll stick to minimizing my apps. Won't affect me after all.
