used rivatuner to have OSD during Bioshock gameplay for GPU Temp and FPS. Found out my max load is high 80 nearing 89 before I quit the game. Idle was 55.
My card is gigabyte 8800gt turboforce with the zalman fan. Took out the Vizo propeller coz its not helping much and took out 3 pci brackets off the casing. Idle now is around 52 (with side panel on lol) and load is ard 65. Max peak at 72. Great improvement for serious air flow issue! |

like i stated, im using gigabyte 8800gt turboforce (700/1700/1900)with zalman fan. Its the Zalman VF700 AlCu but without the memory heatsinks. Came with the card.
And the fatality cooler do supports 8800gt. U can google around. |

dont need to get out of game to look for temps.....u can set rivatuner to show whatever parameters u want on an OSD in-game. By using this way, i no longer need to log the temps to file bcoz i can see real time.
Heres how to do it, step by step : http://forums.filefront.com/s-t-l-k-e-r-ge...structions.html Here is the pictar : » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « I monitor 2 items only : FPS, and GPU Core Temp This post has been edited by zamanjaafar: Jan 23 2008, 05:04 PM |

QUOTE(-pWs- @ Feb 5 2008, 07:47 PM) my x2 4000 already at its limit for my vcore. Wouldnt like increasing more due to temps. Would OC-ing the card more would generate more points and in what range? maybe 200-300 marks? |

dunno what the fuss is all about. Even my previous XFX 6600GT and integrated X1250 clocks down when in 2d mode. Its normal and helpful to prevent waste of energy as the processing power in 2d is less than in 3d.
2D mode includes watching movies, tv card, word processing, browsing, etc. Why would u want to have full 3d clocks with that? |

QUOTE(sogoatticus @ Feb 16 2008, 05:09 AM) guys..going to buy a GT at LYP tomorrow..may i know which is the best among GT?i've known the highest clock were ZOTAC 8800GT AMP and ASUS 8800GT TOP..the ZOTAC got crash prob when play crysis rite?so ASUS TOP good or not?or MSI OC Edition?or any other brand for reccomend? heres my thread abt 8800gt prices and availability, hope it helps : http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/596606 Personally, as im such a cheap guy, I recommend Gigabyte 8800GT Turboforce due to various factors : 1. Price : One of the cheapest pre-overclocked 8800GT around at RM844@viewnet or ard RM850 anyplace else. 2. High pre-overclock : Core 700/Stream 1700/ Memory 1900. Loses out to Asus TOP and Zotac AMP on memory clocks (2000). However both zotac amp and asus top are more than rm900. 3. Cooler : Earlier version of Turboforce uses Zalman VF700AlCu while newer ones uses another Zalman cooler which looks like this ![]() |

Mine is 700/1700/1900 and with VF700AlCu
I heard they underclocked later batches due to the qimondas/killmondas not stable at 1900. And that they are naow using samsung memory. |
