I have forgotten the 1st score details...  sigh,.. how could this happen? anything wrong with the score?

All at stock speed... 600Mhz/900Mhz
*
not sure also... u have to do comparison of the 3 score.. by looking at single scoresheet we cant judge much... try to bench afew times again.
normally people will restart com after each bench.... or at i am.... some even format new partition and with fresh window to bench... to get better score..

Which one of the 3 scores?
Arent everything in the pic?

Added on February 3, 2008, 4:24 pmSo according to my specs....
AMD 64 X2 5000+
8800GT 512 MB @ stock speed
2*1GB Corsair XMS DDR2 800mhz RAM

Is my GC performing up to the std?
*
Each 3dmark bench got 3 scores... which is SM2 score, SM3 score and CPU score...... and all 3 plus togather will make ur 9.1k score... u can see it in ur pic....
so u said u got 2 benchies which is 9.7k and 9.1k... so i ask u to compare those 2 benchies SM2,SM3 and CPUscore and see which 1 is significantly changes alot.... understand? look at the below pic i attach for reference..

I'm using Zotac 8800gt Amp now and i think it is more than enough to handle most of the games in the market right now... i even tune down the core and memory speed for normal 24/7 usage and gaming like COD4...  during CNY holiday maybe will try Crysis to fully ultilise my card...smile.gif my card temp: idle 50~52 load 64~66
*
im sure u cant on 100% max setting on crysis nod.gif ... that include max resolution of ur monitor, max quality setting, with 4xAA...... unless u using 15" monitor with max 1024x768 res doh.gif ....... by that time u will feel wat is not enuf....

ur proc is the bottleneck....... hehe its time for u to start planning to replace it.. LOL.. ur HDD Is sata or sata2???

offtopic: ur audigy 2zs vs gigabyte mobo(wat mobo) sound... izzit still big diff??? coz i heard ppl said nowadays integrated sound already more than enuf...... if the different between integrated and external sound on new gen mobo then its not worth to get it anymore.....

maybe he is right... coz im not sure about AMD.... im more to intel...

anyway bottleneck happens.... if minor then nvm.... if major then i feel its not worth it.... its like u buying an aeroplane but u install KANCIL engine inside.... up to u to judge...

yup it's true to a certain degree..
but for cpu intensive games such as world in conflict, even at 1680x1050 u still can see cpu bottleneck..
why don u check the goldfries' article about bottlenecking at his blog, btw i just read it  rclxms.gif
*
yes.. have a read at this... http://www.goldfries.com/computing/bottlen...ad-could-it-be/

u will understand how much u need to go for.. tongue.gif

as compared to giga mobo price ranged btw RM300-400.. the built in sound is not as detail as the audigy... eg: In generals: Zero hr game, i can actually hear the engine sounds.

I noticed this when i actually played my PC (audigy) and then my bro's (just giga built in sound). The diff is very much diff. also, if you have a good/decent speakers.. try not to use the built in one.

That's all about my exprs....
*
hmm ic.... but to me... my personal taste.. i rather put the money into other hardware rather than sound for PC.... if home theater then diff lor... im just using oldschool altec lansing.. tongue.gif......

where is benchies?????

after adding 2x 120mm fan at the bottom and top of my CM690..... my 8800GT top tempreture reduced around 8'c when max load for CPU and GC....... but when my CPU is not max load... my GC temp is higher.... i think is the 120mm fan speed up when my CPU load..
now my card is 48'c idle and 58'c max GC + CPU load.... where my quadcore OCed to 3.0ghz currently...

what 120mm fan you pakai woh ?
FM123 tongue.gif ?

CM silent and CM silent LED fan.... need FM123 ah?? isnt that abit loud? and expensive too.... CM is much cheaper + afordable + good airflow + i can hear the noise.. maybe im deaf or wat... tongue.gif

woah...those 2 fan can let you drop 8C  shocking.gif...
FM123 good for high CFM user.
But I also wont use 103CFM la  laugh.gif  laugh.gif  laugh.gif
*
hmmm i feel that sumtimes higher CFM doesnt really mean better..... that is IF the hardware already reach its maximum cooling capability..... for example.. when i tune my CPU stock fan speed from 2k to 3k RPM, the temp only drop 1'c or no drops at all... tat recommend me tat it is only abit diff in temp with 1k speed which make alot more noise.. so i choose 2k instead of 3k... tongue.gif

but if u dont use 103CFM then it defeat its purpose to have better fan already as it is about 2x more expensive than CM silent fan... tongue.gif... but it is still a good fan...

guys..among all 8800gt....which manufacturer has the lowest temp cooler?i mean which one is the most less heat produced...
*
heat produced will be the same for all manufacturer since the card is based on nvidia 8800GT reference card.... the only different from each manufacturer is the cooling solution for it..... which is the best?.... i think gigabyte with VF1000 fan perform quite well... asus glaciator not bad too.... ofcoz 3rd party cooler will be the better if u willing to pay extra rm100-150... for acelero s1/s2 + turbo module...

those with inovated big big fan nowadays shudnt give a heat problem already provided ur internal casing airflow is good enuf..

anyway we can make it to stay ay 3d clockspeed? dun want in 2d.
*
why want 3d clockspeed for 24/7 when u got 2d/3d mode and also u dont need it all the time..... when u set to 3dmode 24/7... means ur card work harder for all the time = more heat = fan speed faster = more noise = ur whole internal ambient temperature higher = ur 3dcard + all ur hardware life shorter due to more heat...

when u got 2d/3d mode.... it will automatically detect.... it will run 2d mode when u not using so much of it, example desktop and will automatically switch to 3dmode when u open 3dgames.....

but if u insist wanna change to 3dclockspeed 24/7 ... then u can with rivatuner software and overclock ur 2dmode same as ur 3dmode clockspeed, save it and "apply the setting when window start"

what bout asus 88gt does it work same like gigabyte where it clocks down in 2d mode what if use vista will it utilise the 3d clock  rolleyes.gif
*
if im not wrong... vista require ur 3dcard to run at 3dmode all the time due to it need better graphic for desktop display i think.... so there is no 2dmode for vista.. im not sure whether u can adjust that anot..... im also running full time 3dmode in vista ultimate...

correct me if im wrong..

hmmm i feel ur SM2.0 and ur SM3.0 is abit low, i think shud be around 4.5k and 5k respectively... since mine TOP edition is 5.4k and 5.9k respectively

nono i get SM2.0 5.4k and SM3.0 5.9k is with my C2D E6750 2.66ghz.... not Q6600.... below is my OC pic.... C2Q is just change recently

try to oc your proc. mine can get 12k 3dmark06
*
OC is diff case.... without OC his score for both SM shud be slightly higher and reach around 10k for reference clock speed 600/1800... those OC to 700/1900 or 700/2000 shud score way higher like ~11k-12k+ by default without OC

below is the pic where i OC my E6750 and Asus TOP at the same time........ and also where i change my proc to Q6600

bro ur pc spec?
ya quite cheap among other shops..i surveyed all over LYP and ATE the cheapest..but they sell XFX quite expensive.
so u mean my spec should get around 11-12k score? cry.gif
*
actually do u all realize that 3dmark06 score is the total of 3 score which is SM2.0, SM3.0 and CPU score? thats why people always say it is CPU dependant

So SM2.0 and SM3.0 is ur graphic card score and CPU score is ur processor. i dont know about others, but im more interested in SM score since they represent ur GPU capability....

a normal 8800GT shud score roughly 10k, mid factory oc shud be around 11k, and 700mhz core factory OC shud be around 12k.... and remember the score is CPU dependant too.... so u can always try to OC ur processor abit to check whether it is bottlenecking ur GC anot

kindly correct me if im wrong..

u shud play other more 3d intense gaming... dota isnt intense at all.. >_<"..... or try ATItool to see ur load temperature after 30mins of ATItool running scan artifact

i want to try to change the thermal compound. but i duno whether it is worth it or not ler.

u see ah. my idle temp is 55C (67% fan speed) while load 70-75C or even higher (100%). I'm using Asus SmartDoctor to control the temperature at the moment and Rivatuner to monitor the temp.

I want to change to 3rd party cooler, but thinking of the voiding warranty thingy makes it not an option for me.

I google about it and what i found was this : http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1240142 (the stock compound looks sucky) lol
*
u using asus 8800GT TOP edition with the glaciator fan or like reference 8800GT fan???

if urs is glaciator fan.. im sure that ur casing temperature is hot.... change to a better casing with better airflow....

but i think urs is reference fan since u said can adjust fan speed... >_<".. if it is the reference cooler then u want it lower temperature then go buy 3rd party cooler, artic acelero dunno s1 or s2... RM100.... and if u got more money pay RM45 more to get the turbo module....its far more better than u reapply the Thermal compound which only will decrease less than 5'c at best i think...
