you need nvflash to back up your bios

GPU-Z only shows information of your GPU and nothing else

u can go to www.madshrimp.com

i must say dat Galaxy produce a good cooling system for 8800gt heat..
*
your information is outdated.

if you have the money get the XXX edition, it's the fastest XFX 8800GT and faster than any other 8800GT in our market.

so in 8800GT 512mb for XFX which 1 is top ...and the price
*
if you can't find the XFX XXX edition, then you can settle for Asus TOP Edition.

It has the same clock with a non reference vga cooler.

i'm not sure where in LYP where they sell the XXX edition.

i'll say pre-overclock card isnt that worth to get compared to reference clock even im using one of the pre-clocked card....... personally felt that galaxy dual slot cooler now is a good buy at ~RM710..... save ~rm230 compared to ASUS 88GT TOP ed.........
*
why not ar?

imo, at least factory oc is more stable than self oc.

cuz i didnt give opinion base on online webbie or what so ever...
i went to LYP last week and all XfX ADE dat been selling there still using d Nvidia reference cooler...
next time, try check @LYP first k??
d latest batch for ADE wiil be @LYP shelf but dunno when since d demand on 9600GT is overwhelming...
but if u think  right, then proceed...i will stop dis debate...
*
going to lyp last week is also outdated...

you can get the new xfx with zalman at lyp and digital mall.

next time don't be so outdated kthxbai

hmmm coz the price spend for the extra overclock(top pre-overclocked) is not worth it..... spending ~Rm230 more just for ~10% faster only.... and not all pre-oc card is stable... i've heard ppl having trouble with Qimonda chip where they facing crash and need to slightly downclock it... im not sure myself since im getting a stable at pre-oc.....
*
some people just has the money to spend on any given price for a performance card without having the knowledge of overclocking.

also, not all non oc card has artifact issues as well. so the minority reports is an invalid excuse for generalization smile.gif

yes there are consumer who buy thgs that is not worth for its price bcoz they have no knowledge it...... we as a smart consumer have to choose wisely.... if they ask us that knew about it... we have the responsibility to tell them wat is benefit to them... rich doesnt mean much spend all... smart buy is better than blind buy... u can go get best card in the world and make it QUAD SLI... but do u really think its worth??? or in another word, do u think it is necessary to buy it? unless they have the money and seriously cant think of anywhere to spend or any bank to keep it then go ahead to get it...... that is one of the type of enthusiast... laugh.gif

there is no generalization made in my statement.... already mention that mine is no problem with it... that alone already break the generalization IF u assume it is generalize.... tongue.gif
lol you need to try harder rolleyes.gif

your not getting my point.

if the consumer is seeking for the best without having the liberty of researching the knowledge of overclocking, would rather spend on a pre-overclocked card than finding out how to overclock himself. nothing to do with smart buy or blind buy. some people has the money to spend and some doesn't. someone who can afford the best card in the world and make's a quad sli doesn't even have the second thought of worthy. it's like buying two 32" apple cinema displays. i'm sure you would think it's not worth it. people who are rich has less sense of necessity because they can always get another at any given point of time.

i know alot of people in this topic are avoiding the qimonda memory chips. i'm simply making a statement.

and btw, why are you telling me to try harder when that post wasn't meant for you?

im very undecided on which brand man and i got like 3 more days to finish my latest rig .....can any1 giv me a clue so that i can have a piece of mind....

Ojective : to get a 8800GT 512mb

UNDECIDED: unsure which to choose ( i don do OC)
*
some say..to spend wisely or to spend blindly..

for me...i have no regrets buying anything for pure style. not to say i'm rich or whatever but i can just afford it. i classify these as casual buyers "nerd-free style".

if you don't have and don't intend to have the knowledge of overclocking, then let the money do the work for you. simple.

Thanks for the reply mate.. smile.gif I do really need help on this.. As I was the one who recommended the card for my fren.. He use 17" CRT monitor so I guess there's no need for 512mb..

1. I haven't do any 3DMark as the game itself is more important..
2. Yes, I do try with ATiTool 27 beta 4, no temperature recorded.. that's strange I guess..
3. I do use latest Nvidia Driver.. so, no worries about that..
4. My own backup PSU (Delta Server 600watt PSU).. those who knows what is a server PSU would not swap with anything lower than PC&P..
5. Of course I do locked the 6-pin power cable laugh.gif
*
try using hwmonitor from cpuid. try gaming for an hour and check the temperature after. make sure you leave hwmonitor running in the background while you game.
