just type as shown, and make sure you get the cases right as its case sensitive.

and to get your wow server ip, just connect to WoW and once ur on char selecting screen, alt tab and do a netstat, or download TCPview and view the ip.

ow hopefully that should be working now open up a new console window and type ifconfig now in eth0 look for your inet addr that is the ip address of the virtual machine.You will need that to route wow traffic to your vmware linux.

I don't really understand this part. ipconfig shows 3 different IPs, VMNet8(NAT), VMNet1(Host only) and my physical ethernet IP, I tried all 3 and it didnt work =(

Since my pc can't take VM + WoW and I got a spare PC, how should I set up my network? Which PC should I plug my router to?

plug BOTH pc's to router, and set DHCP to assign ip and route accordingly.

if your having a modem router combo with only 1 port, just connect that port to a switch, and have the pc's to connect to that switch.

btw! this linux routing also helps on auctioner scan lol... 250 pages of auctions that usually takes 8-12 mins is now 4-5 minutes, i was like wtf o_O

only need like 200-800mb HDD space.

and thats only if you want a HDD install. the feather-linux iso is a live cd in which your linux OS can run as if its already installed (hence "live CD") pretty cool feat.

thanks for reminding me that! feather is using knoppix! i've used knoppix a few times before.

i've done all the required stuffs and now playing with 260-350ms lat. have to admit that lowerping does it better with constant 250ms at times, but this is without the risk of getting the ban!

own linux > lowerping.com

my lowerping acc is till active though. anyone want to buy it? hehe...

Reg hack works for me as well, from 2 machine Vista business/Win Xp. Both were around the region of 1.5k++ pings. Pop the hack in wala.. i get around 300++ to 500++ depend on how many users were logged on local LAN. So far i haven't really tested whether it affects other issues e.g. download, BT and such. But so far i have no issues.

Anyway, i made 2 .reg files for me to turn on "WOW" mode or off it blink.gif blush.gif So when i ever i'm ready for it i just double click it and reboot. Sure a slight hassle but hey.. beats having 1k pings. To off it.. just double click it again and reboot. I don't download AND wow anyway brows.gif

Here's the snippets: Wow mod ON

CODE

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\{9DB7BEB4-6944-4C2A-8493-401A49B7582B}]
"TcpAckFrequency"=dword:00000001

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSMQ\Parameters]
"TCPNoDelay"=dword:00000001

Copy the above and paste to a file with *.reg extension. NOTE Remember the interface is YOUR interface serial number. Save it e.g WoW-on.reg Double click and reboot.

Wow mod Off

CODE

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\{9DB7BEB4-6944-4C2A-8493-401A49B7582B}]
"TcpAckFrequency"=-

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSMQ\Parameters]
"TCPNoDelay"=-

Double click it again and reboot. Back to normal thumbup.gif

P.S. This has been tested on Win Xp and Vista. Also make sure you patch vista like the post before this had stated. Vista 64 uses QWORD instead. Again... the interface seriall is YOUR interface and change appropriately.

Please do this at your own risk, which i doubt would be of any harm but heck.. just backup your registry whistling.gif

reghack (or rather tweak lol) works no doubt, but it has its drawbacks as ive already mentioned earlier. but if it isnt a bother to you, and all your priority is WoW, then by all means use it.
