Yeah, after cny,i will visit Taylors once before register.
I am now still dunno weather want to study business or culinary art.
Can give me some advises?
Thank you munak.
oh really ?

do they still have the fren get fren scheme ?

where a fren introduce a person to register and will get rm 500

we can share the rm 250

study business bah
culinary arts....ive met so many culinary arts students during my training which is right now...chat with them
and most of them still end up as commis even after 1-2 years
or maybe u can take hotel management to try out....whether ur really into cooking or not....if not into cooking...u can always switch to management side in hotel...aka OPTION A / OPTION B
since business is in ur choice....management side is almost similar to business studies

Hi all...
I am waiting for my SPM result now and I'm interested with Culinary Art,but i scare my future will be nothing. My brother not support me at all, because he said won't have a good future.
Well,I want to ask:-
1.Is this course fun?
2.Is Taylors College good?(i mean lecturers,equipment etc)
3.What can i do after graduated?
I need u'll help.I say thanks 2 all of u 1st~
THANK YOU~!!!!!!!!!!!
oh ya,industry training got salary???

1. do u hav the passion? as in passion to further/modifying enhance ur food

...cos everyone can cook...its up to whether or not u have the flair and passion to be special.... for eg...anyone can make nasi lemak.... do u hav the passion to create a unique nasi lemak (make u stand out) ..not just nasi lemak but for ur other dishes ..for ur every dishes that u make...instead of just following the recipe or illustration 100 %
2. oh well if u see taylors new t shirt (which i bought

) front is nice...but at the back it says best hospitality school..bla bla bla.... yea and if not mistaken their kitchen is the largest in msia (for a college of course) and they have the well known (in college) chef patrick siau........

3. be a commis with a salary of rm 700-900 per month 5 star hotel...prepare to work long hours...very very hard to climb up the ladder since most of the chef already knew wat u knew(unless u got some unique skills/dishes) which can bring u up the ladder.....if not...u can never be an executive chef

if u take hotel management... if u don like kitchen...u can always switch to restaurant/service side...or management side....
love cooking as a hobby OR cooking as ur career (30-40 years)
think carefully...like my mom...enjoys baking/cooking ( cook/bake well) but never tot of chef as a careerThis post has been edited by kueks: Feb 3 2008, 12:08 PM
