not likely, with all the great exclusive games on consoles, and console being much cheaper than pc just to play same game at about the same specs. I used to be exclusively a pc gamer but finally got tired of having to upgrade every few months just to enjoy games at a decent framerate and quality. I was also jealous of exclusive console games like burnout, gt, final fantasy, gow, mgs3.

it kicks in only when needed. You can look around the subforum for my thread about stress testing the ps3. 48 hours nonstop and the ps3 lives on. Just make sure it is well ventilated, like the guy mentioned. Air from ps3 can get VERY hot. My keyboard feels very hot after exposed to the ps3 exhaust after an hour or so. PS3 only slightly warm at the sides. normal at the top.

could 5th February 2008 be the historic day when the ps3 could run unsigned code? Time will tell. No idea if it's legit or not.

umm how do I put this as straight as I can? Well I'm just going to say this:

WRONG! PSN downloads run fine, game demos download adequately fast. I can play online multiplayer.Warranty is via singapore and you just need to check "I got it as a gift" during registration process.

The bullcrap that the retailers at the official store put out from what I hear from this forum is because of salesperson who would rather make up something to answer to the customers rather than just saying "I don't know" to your question.

About worrying ps3 failures, you don't have to worry as much compared to the other high graphics console because of its around 1% failure rate compared to 15% failure rate of the new falcon sets of the other console.

"Should you buy a ps3?" Well... will you enjoy the games that the console will exclusively have? That is the real question. I'm not gonna promote the ps3 to you, you just have to see if u like the games. If you prefer halo 3 more then even with the high failure rate of the other console will not stop you from buying a 360 (if you have the money la).

THanks for the info. Apparently I went ahead and did it before reading this post. Update runs fine for me though. Improvements in some oneline games? Well it didnt help COD4 much. I keep getting invites from neoardi, ali_83, GabeMK, kuya_abe but all failed to connect or server is full. mehhhhhhhhh.

ok this time I tried going one level up to look for the MD5 checksum but I only got forbidden message. Where can I get the checksums ?

actually yes in fact the reader does use a blue-violet laser to read from the disc's platter. The surface is essentially the same as a DVD, even has the same dimension but what makes it differ from the regular DVD is that due to the blue-violet laser's shorter wavelength, more grooves can be fitted onto the data platter which in turn yields more storage space.

yeah, and sixaxis is going to be phased out. sixaxis was pretty cool though as a name. it's even a palindrome (same spelling spelled backwards). Damn light as well. For some reason I tend to pwn a lot more with it than my dual shock 3 in COD4. as long as there isnt any rumble for COD4 I will continue using the sixaxis.
