want to say hello to the PS3 community, I finally made the purchase last Saturday from Bernard & Crystal and now am the proud owner of a 40GB PS3 and Motorstorm. smile.gif I'll make a PSN account soon.

I tried for so long to get them to appreciate gaming and sixaxis did it! Now my dad wants me to teach him how to hook up the ps3 to the LCD tv downstairs to play when I am not around. lol! Just so sayang motorstorm got no 2 player offline mode. Can't go head to head splitscreen with my parents.

Thanks for the welcome, much appreciated.

I went through the whole setup process for my own rig with the ps3 to my samsung 206BW monitor. I can certainly say it wont be an easy road.

First off the cable is available from AllIT Hypermart in low yat. That's where i got mine. The standard one costs RM 69, the branded one will cost RM 169. Don't think it stops there, you still have to consider sound come from where.

Mine is a 3 year old wireless logitech cordless Desktop Pro keyboard mouse + keyboard combo. Bought it for RM 150 from bulk order section. Mouse I use logitech MX1000 laser mouse. Both works out of the box with no tweaking or driver installation.

your 206BW can support 1080p resolution or not? mine can display but the monitor complains not optimal resolution. sad.gif It looks fine at first but then got flickers and static flash. Can run at 720p only without problem.

haha yea! Those were good times. I'll still keep my pc and account there as well, just frozen my BF life for a bit. Maybe play once in a while. Quite busy these few months, have to control my gaming habits.

yeah can use immediately without any big issues. just plug in the transmitters and ready to go. Scroll buttons can scroll through menus, cant copy paste though but certainly faster to type. in FPS games I think it doesnt support unless the game says so. Can anyone confirm this?

All IT, probably Thundermatch also has them, you can also try ace hardware to try your luck but I cant confirm there. Also remember to use the default setting first to start your monitor. Make sure your monitor supports HDCP or you wont be able to use it with ur ps3 even though u have DVI.

try to reposition your router. bring it somewhere closer. you might have put your router in a bad position.

I dont have the kind of money to spend on something that has a high failure rate. PS3 all teh way with free online. M$ can shove their 3 rings up theirs. Huwargh!

Sounds about right, except what if we dont have access to a windows pc? My laptop runs on ubuntu. The problem is the part where we install MS.net framework version 1.1. How do we do that on ubuntu? Will Wine suffice?

As for me, I run my ps3 alternately between my family's 32 inch Sharp Aquous and my 20 inch Samsung 206BW. Funny thing is, in contrast to

the 32 inch lcd tv says it cant support the ps3's 1080i signal, but can show 1080p just fine.


As for my samsung 206BW 20 inch I could push to 1080p, but it says not optimum. First it ran fine but later on got flickering. Anyone else facing this issue? I had to settle with 720p for my monitor.

What I also dont understand is that 1080p is 1920X1080, but yet my 1680X1050 monitor can display.

gah. so many contradiction. excuse my while I nurse my poor aching head in between Jade Raymond's boo- I mean , my pillows.

well I guess so.... the real contrasting part is the 32 inch TV wont show 1080p part, cause I do believe 32 inch TVs can show 1080p, provided they do support it natively.

We met with DivX earlier today to discuss their upcoming plans, and one of the topics that came up was support for the PS3 console. According to the company, they expect the previously announced firmware update to hit the PS3 soon, which will enable full DivX support for the console. Though no specific time frame was given for this upgrade, their particular emphasis on saying it was coming soon leads us to believe it's "coming in a week or two" soon, as opposed to "4 months down the road" soon.

Looks like PS3 dont want to lose to Xbox's recent divx update. Jgn mengaku kalah ...yea!

sure but being the first doesnt always mean you are the best. MS neglected some testing and look at their 3ROD issue biting them back in the ass. You have no idea how much money they had to spend to accomodate the 3 year warranty plan.

I believe 2008 will be the year of the ps3, watch and see. MGS4, Final Fantasy, Killzone 2, Playstation Home. LittleBigPlanet. More to come. You can already see some indications, like how the PS3 outsold the Wii for a while in Japan.

played a round with black_mango and neoardi. Burnout is awesome! Haihs looks like I'm gonna pick this over Gran Turismo 5, sure the graphics are awesome but I guess it is just too technical for my liking. tongue.gif

if you saw how those professional drivers speed and drift into a parallel parking between two cars without hitting them, you might want to try that out. I haven't seriously tried power breaking, I think its hard.

Seeing your opponent's face captured from their PS3 USB camera 1 second after they got takedown= PRICELESS

I won't say the name, but last night's match with someone who had the USB camera was pretty funny since the game takes a snapshot of his face each time he got takedown and displayed it on the takedowner's screen. It made the match feel a lot more personal! tongue.gif
