I wanted to buy a Ps3 but after hearing this news, I have to think again.
I've read most of the topic and you guys out there didn't seems to realise that Ps3 is not going to launch in Malaysia due to the heavy modification from the previous playstation 2. Games and software ve'been duplicated and Sony announce that they are not going to launch Ps3 in Malaysia.
Many of the Ps3 that's selling in stores in M'sia were brought from Singapore. They did not pass through custom check. Moreover, they said that even though u own a Ps3, to go online, many server system has been block and you won't be able to use the full potential of Ps3. Furthermore there's is no warranty to the Ps3. So if it's damage, you have to pay for the repair fees. OMG !
This is what the store seller said.
So if this news real? Should I buy a Ps3?
Need advice and your opinion.

most of us here are buying parallel import PS3 + games (whether from SGP, HK, JPN, US etc.) so far no problem, can play online just fine.

yes there are some cases where the PS3 has some defective h/w problems w.r.t. the laser/lense assembly, but i think local shops can fix that problem, not sure how much they charge for fix but google the laser part [PS3 KES-400AAA] and it can be bought at bulk rates ~USD30.

as for official sony.my launch, some rumors say it is still pending and may come this year.

the ps3 has a High hardware sustainability, very few breakdowns. therefore, it means u wouldn't really use yr warranty. Even so, there are people who knows the inside out of a ps3 and are capable of repairing it.

The news u jus said is jus BULLSHIT. Sony is making tons of sales on so many of their product. I don think thy would pull the ps3 launch frm here. Anyways thy hv units showcasing their HD and a few of their games. Its jus only time man.

Echochrome Demo Available From PSN Japan



The PlayStation Store in Japan received a downloadable demo from Japan Studio's upcoming PlayStation 3 release of Echochrome. It's surprisingly small, at about 34 MB, and apparently demo version for PSP also available for download.

Echochrome is a graphically simple puzzle game, with gameplay involving rotating a world occupied by Oscar Reutersvärd's impossible constructions to be traversed by a mannequin figure. The game is based on the Object Locative Environment Coordinate System developed by Jun Fujiki, an engine that determines what is occurring based on the camera's perspective.
