stick to stock rims but with betta tyres! confirm good comfort and betta traction? haha
*
stock rims are steel
not as good especially if terkena some potholes (which our roads r so famous for doh.gif )
once abit damaged (cant see oso) then balance all will lari n not good ride d...i.e. not stable n safe nymore

just got my hands on the meter from home
it reached a while back
but just went home n picked it up
its even better than i had hoped!
so cool!!!
got external AND internal temperature sensor, volt meter, trip meter, stop watch, freeze warning detection, battery high/medium/low indicator, centigrade/farennheit selection, 12/24hour clock selection, switch to select between clock and stopwatch display, and switch to select between outside n inside temp display!
and its small!
i tot it'd be rather big
but its real tiny for all that it packs!
cant wait to install it!

my meter panel light very dim......dunno how to change the LED..anyone can change for me...nasi kandar on me..hehe
*
which type of panel is urs?
they are mounted on the pcb itself if im not mistaken
quite messy to change em
and iinm, they are not LEDs
they are standard instrument panel incandecents
if want to change to led will have to use resistors also
coz voltage supplied to the bulb now is 12V
LEDs generally work on 3volts hmm.gif

hmm....should hav step the accelerator to the max...see how fast my iswara can go.... tongue.gif
*
guys
the iswara is no silver arrow or F40 or 911GT
its just an iswara

i dont know if ya'll heard bout the accident in kl on friday
an iswara lost control n went through the rails and over the edge of the elevated highway at a corner
the guy driving it died

he was my classmate from highschool
just graduated a couple of years back
damn bright guy
had a great job and his future was so bright...he could have done anything he wanted
but thats never going to happen now

no matter how much you mod it, its still just an iswara
a chain is only as strong as it's weakest link

so dont try to drive it like something that its not
i dont want to have to read about more iswaras in the ditch

my friend's death is already one too many

take it slow

what the, after installing the cap ayam exhaust extension, got "sound-alike" BOV turbo that the evo has... i mean "sound-alike" only whenever i press accelerator and let go

Added on December 30, 2007, 6:35 pmmaybe becoz the extra exhaust pressure hit on the add-on thing
*
that would be created by the pressure drop that results during de-cel...which is generally how the BOV sound imitators work

unless ofcourse its electronic...which is a totally diff ball game

*
regarding singchaii's 936km to a tank (RM95 of vpower), that should be put in some sort of record book
thats about 21km/L
its rivaling soft turbo diesels and hybrid cars
really amazing

can sifoo singchaii please tell us the following which he uses?:

1. tyre pressure
2. engine oil
3. gear box oil
4. aircon on/off
5. day/night driving

would really like to know
this kind of efficiency is amazing! rclxub.gif

QUOTE(PureGeek @ Dec 30 2007, 08:05 PM)
can u see the metal thing with a small bottleneck opening very close to the air filter... can someone tell me what is purpose of that thing
*
people, please; for the love of God, read and remember this
i have typed this so many times already that its getting tiring

that metal is called a HEAT SHIELD, not a heat sink doh.gif
its is meant to reduce thermal fatigue on the surrounding parts of the car, among other things
(basically to contain the heat radiated by the exhaust manifold as much as possible)

the hole there is for the autochoke air intake
in the full spec models, when the engine is cold, the air intake draws its air from around the exhaust manifold (hot air)
the engine heats up faster, but more importantly, it runs smoother while heating up
this is achieved by a damper (valve) in the duct
it is operated by vacuum which is tapped from the vacuum hose system
i have not traced the exact route of the hoses though

once the engine is hot, the damper switches the intake to the cold air intake (CAI) from the fender
if u remove the duct that comes out from the air filter box, you will see a circular mold mark which would be above the metal opening in the heat shield when the duct is in place
this is where the intake joint is molded in on the full spec models
these two points are joined using a flexible metallic hose (wire weave with foil covering)

they did not make a specific heat shield for the normal models so they just used the full spec version with the intake point still on it; not to mention it doesnt even fit on the versions of lmsts with the 4-2-1 extractors! (cheapskate bastards dry.gif)

guys, if the valve clearance sound (teppet) can cause any side effect?..the sound has been on going in my car for 6 months dee...

basically poorer engine performance
u should get them adjusted
if not ur valved will open late and close early

u could change ur alternator
chances are its below capacity now
u fixed any extra electrical loads on your car?
e.g. amps, spotlights, higher rating bulbs, etc.?
if so, the max draw on the electrical system has exceeded your alternator's maximum capacity
time to upgrade tongue.gif

no way u can solve it... i only can make it not so dim when the compressor kicks in by adding the VS

Added on December 31, 2007, 9:34 pm
so nice ur engine use full synthetic, i also plan to use full after my free labour from SC after 10k so that i can service my car once a year lol thumbup.gif
*
at 10k service buy ur own synth n go to sc
after all
only service free mar
so u bring ur own oil ask them to change
their materials cost damn high man
lastime they charge me 50+ for the shell helix mineral
i check in normal shop LISTED is 40+
so sure can get less
more than rm10 above market price man! dry.gif

biggrin.gif vs + ground i gonna add later. not so fast
*
VS will only reduce the initial dimming
its basically a capacitor bank
and capacitors store energy
once the draw exceeds the supply, the capacitor bank will discharge its stored energy
and after that the lights will dim anywayz

capacitor banks are not generators
as far as i can tell, they are only to compensate for voltage drops which are a fraction of a second in duration

and even for that oso i hvnt found any conclusive evidence

i know alot of ppl say it works
but im wondering if its like those power booster additives in the market
thousands of ppl swear by it

but when all the major brands were tested under controlled lab conditions, it turned out that the best case scenario was that there was no improvement
worse case scenario was that power actually dropped!

so until i find some lab tested results, dont think i'll be adding in a VS

i have nothing against grounding cables though as they as a passive add-on sweat.gif

ya i m aware of that too but u got a nice idea there.. nod.gif but i tot SC only use Petronas for their lubricant? They offer Shell Helix too? I never aware of that. SC price normally around RM10 more expensive than outside. Caltex 10-40 semi oil outside selling RM80+ but SC selling Petronas Syntium 800 20-40 for RM80+ also doh.gif
*
yup
d one i go to in seremban offers shell
not the proton proton sc
this is authorized sc
proton wan i waited for 2 hours (i made appointment for 8am, i was there by 7.50, by 10am they still hvnt take my car in)
i got pissed off n went to the authorized sc
much much better
n the boss there v nice
n work there quite good (as long as stand there n monitor the workers...hehe)
