I'm considering in between HD650, AKG701 or Denon D5000.

Let's say budget is not a problem, which one u think i should get ?

Mainly, and mostly for outdoor, with Ipod.

Will be using with amps in the future tho.
*
Let's start with what music is your preference. PM me to have a chat. Or MSN/email/call me etc etc.

alrite, all the phone u stated need an aggressive amp to push the performance out, if u not intend to go for an amp now, u might consider ms2 and ms pro as better options, and for outdoor purpose...it is highly not recommended for either 650 or 701 biggrin.gif

Hi wallabies, hope you don't mind i borrow your thread.

yuheng @ Yes, i understand on the amp and outdoor conveniences.

Just that the amp will only set in in about next 3 or 6 months later cause i'm still building a blueprint to build up the sound system. But as for now since i do not have enough space for home theatre yet, i wish to get an excellent headphone so that i won't have to buy again in the future =/

Additionally, i'm a walking turtle (With backpack), so going out with headphone won't be any issue. =P

wallabies @ Songs preference will be R&B, Classical (ochestral type), Pop (Mostly japanese songs),and BGMs & OST (Anime and movies).

Not to worry, yuheng is my partner, he helps me to reply some questions.
For me I will go HD650, quite all rounded although you have to know it's a bit laid back.
There's a lot of HD650 orders recently (year end ma...). But now I have to headache where I should get the HD650. You all gather the orders here and tell me how many units to go...

Are you into gaming? Most of yours listed are quite suitable for X-fi card due to low ohm except HD555, which needs an amp to push.
Just be aware some of them dont have stocks.

as for the choice u stated, all those 32ohm headphone shall have good sound with ur xifi card, say Es7, or either u can go for MS1, it is under promotion now....and for DT440 or HD555, it is more recomended by using it with an amp,AD700 have quite decent sound as well. and for the HP1k, i wonder u still can find the ready stock??

z5500 I think you get a conventional soundcard better. It's a 5.1 system.

yu heng... i am sad... my mylars somehow fell out of my pocket and immediately someone terpijak it... to make matters worse he was a big guy wearing boots.

The wires are now exposed at two separate tears along the cable... i duct-taped it for now. Also, the plastic part of the drivers split apart, but the wires held firmly sutured to the insides... I also duct taped that as well.

So, dr... can u tell me how long more can my mylarthree last? For now, there is not much difference in the sound quality so i will keep using them till they kaput.

My only options now are 1) get mylars more expensively from Jaben...

2) ebay for iM716 IEMs.... is this better than mylar3i? I tot might as well use this opportunity to upgrade.... but if the iM716 is lousier then its a waste of money... I cant demo them, where i am...

3) save for etymotic er4... is it really worth it? some1 offer me 2nd hand relatively cheap but still... way over my budget

4) U fly here and sell me those mylars... save me the headache biggrin.gif

Please tell me wad u think about the im716 compared to the etymotic er4 and the mylarx3i..... or any other IEMs in mind... Shure's are dead expensive here. I'm looking forward to slightly more bass this time, and similar sized ones to mylars, as I was quite comfortable with them.

From my research so far, the new mylars sound much better... but lousier build quality? Is this true? I cant bear to see my new mylar wires exposed again... sakit hati

Mylar reviews: http://www.meizume.com/meizume/1961-crossr...der-review.html
http://www.anythingbutipod.com/archives/20...-xbi-review.php

Also, your amps are dead cheap compared to what I've seen so far in UK... maybe next time i go back msia find you ^^
