for the rock house dvd, if only me, blacktrix and suri wants it.. then i think it'll be easier if we just ordered our own cuz it would be a hassle to deliver them to you after the shipment arrives anyways

swee Lee is the agent.
And no guitar is hard to shred on. It's just a matter of getting used to.
I started of with a BOLT ON LP-100...... upper frets isn't usually a problem with doing basic stuff.

But once you move into sweeping arpeggios and the lot.... yeah..... you'll notice the heel. But if Zakk and Matt Heafy could shred on a Les Paul....... what's that from stopping you?

I'm just finding an excuse to buy a new guitar....... what's yours? tongue.gif

if buckethead can shred like he can on his LP, so can you smile.gif

im using an ltd ax-50 in matte black finish. just one word of caution, the matte finish will wear out especially with sweat or oil. i anchor my pinky on the body of the guitar next to the pickup, so that area has a huge patch of smudge which looks ugly under the light.

its a long and hard process which can only come through experience.
heres an exercise to help you memorize the frets on the fretboard.
imagine the frets, numbered from 1-22(or 24).
each time you play a note, say out loud which fret your playing on. DONT LOOK AT THE DOTS!

after a week, or if you're feeling confident, do it with your eyes closed, with a video cam recording. after you're done playing, watch back the video and see how many mistakes you've made(you won't get a perfect score, trust me).

after that you can move on to advanced fret mastery, where you practice fret skipping and fret sweeping. i suggest playing with a metronome. start slow then build speed smile.gif

last but not least, remember to play it both clean and distorted.
you'll master the fret numbers in no time ! thumbup.gif

one more thing, don't set your goals too high. i suggest somewhere about 10 frets per second first, then slowly build up to 14 frets per second or however fast you can count biggrin.gif

i've watched the first dvd so far and to be honest i'm quite disappointed. there isn't much teaching going on, all just showing riffs from songs. the organization is pretty bad as well, jumping from different tunings (drop c and d standard) and out of place stuff like providing the e minor scale in between when its not even used in the lesson blink.gif

some tabs in the tab book is also wrongly tabbed, and the tuning written is wrong too doh.gif
