Yep, best way would be for seller to refund the buyer in this particular case.. Case settle, and he himself could settle the other party case with his 'friend'

This case make me afraid to make a deal at lowyat forum

If seller no money to refund back and the reason is because he use people's bank account then why dont he just give the phone to the buyer first? Then only settle the money with his friend?

as far as I see,

1st, if u really an honest person, u wont be cheating him in the 1st places
2nd, eventhough u appologies, what u did to him, engrave in my mind
3rd, i wont do trade with jeff8585, even if he sell things that interest me.
4th, make sure u use YOUR OWN ACCOUNT, and if got faulty in the card or what, STOP DOING TRADING.

There's one simple way to solve these all actually. You can just return his lost money by your own account, no Maybank account? Interbank transfer works, just add a small fee. And why are you telling your customer to go cancel fund transfer in the bank? You, are responsible for that, not him. Return his money, and go pursue/chase/find your "lost friend" aka account holder yourself, that makes you cleaner.

to cancel a transaction the bank will refer to acc holder first. if u as a friend not managed to contact him. in what sense do u think that the bank will do.

i doubt it's ur friend acc number. normally if someone using other person acc they acc sould be his relative or some friend (best friend ) that always keep in touch.

This is unacceptable. Buyer and seller both is very inexperience or is only teenagers. Hence, seller not having the proper account. I didn't read everything posted here but from some of the things I read, there are some questionable doubts.

1) seller is using friend's bank account. Friend went MIA is his problem. Buyer proved that he banked in the money with bank slip or online transaction. Seller must bear responsibility. No such things as must wait until can track the friend. That could be bullshit for all we know.

2) once money has been transfered, where got such things as reverse the transaction. Like that how many people will kena con in 1 day? I bank in 5 million to your account and then ask bank to reverse the transaction lah.

3) it's only rm250. why wait and wait and wait? Just return the money and take your own sweet time to look for your friend. Don't put the burden on the buyer.

4) buyer is like putting the blame on a friend (whom we don't know is real or not). My advice to seller to report police and freeze his maybank account.

Quite amazing excuses given by the seller. Smells like either a con-job or this seller is doing things ad-hoc or extreme inexperience.

- it doesn't take more than RM250 to open a Maybank account, if he's genuinely selling, this is the first thing he should've done. Why use a friend's account?

- it is normally the responsibility of the seller to ensure the correct bank-in information is passed to the buyer. This seller should have taken full responsibility for misleading the buyer into banking money to his friend's account, no excuses permitted. Putting blame on buyer and asking buyer to "reverse" the transaction shows a general ill-will. Ask yourself, any good respectable business will do this to their customers?

Hope TS gets his refund.

after sum reading,

1. the seller shouldn't use other people's bank account if there wud be any problem in withdrawing it later on..

2. now the seller bumped into trouble, but u have to take responsibility

3. seller HAVE to refund or pinjam from ur other frens (if the money vanished into thin air,if la )

jeff,u got nothing to lose because u said the money still ade kan..
so after refund to TS, u claim la when ur fren comes back/available
