There's one simple way to solve these all actually. You can just return his lost money by your own account, no Maybank account? Interbank transfer works, just add a small fee. And why are you telling your customer to go cancel fund transfer in the bank? You, are responsible for that, not him. Return his money, and go pursue/chase/find your "lost friend" aka account holder yourself, that makes you cleaner.
