Blame the bad sound quality to our arcade back then.
But then they also shoot abookit aliku in the SFC/SNES version...

I only start hearing hadoken since the first SF Zero.

i believe it was due to the limitation of the arcade board at that time.

Hey wanna ask you guys. How come sometimes the Ryu's fireball in SF2 arcade ( world warrior ) got RED color one? How do I want to make that red fireball go out more often? Deals more damage isnt? tongue.gif

If I'm not mistaken, a certain version of SFII you could do the flaming hadoken with a half-circle forward. Deals more dmg, burning, and falls-down.

Unsure about Ken's heavy shoyuken tho', causes flame too.

SF2 was random i believe too. In the alpha's hcf was indeed flaming, but does negligible damage. Not sure if it knocks down though...

OMG, Guile's head and flat-top hair has been shrunk!

But the new character is indeed cool.

Thats in SSF2 The New Challengers, Ryu has the fire hadouken and Ken has the flaming shoryuken

For the old SFII, the red fireball comes out randomly and it doesn't deal more damage. All normal only

Man, I've been playing back old SF2 on my MAME emulators just for the sake to relieve the old memories hehehe.

yeah, you guys are right. THe red fireball comes out randomly & doesnt deal any extra damage. Must be some sort of glitch.

Fight fight boogan! <-- this is the sound when Ryu/Ken making the Hurricane Kick. heeheh tongue.gif

You mean the "rainbow" edition of Street Fighter II? That's the hacked Taiwanese version which was popular in Asia. Among the numerous "upgrades" this version featured:

1. Change characters with the Start button while playing!
2. The charge time for charging moves (like Guile's Sonic Boom) are shortened to 1 second
3. Anti-air attacks have additional perks (ex: Dragon Punch is accompanied by 5 heat-seeking fireballs!)
4. Chun Li's hyakuretsukyaku (lightning kick) accompanied by (again) heat-seeking fireballs!
5. Zangief's spinning lariat goes through the top of the screen, appearing again from under the screen

These perks are great and all, but my favourite upgrade? Vega scales the damn background! Normally, Vega can only scale the fence on his stage. On other stages, he only does the wall jump. But in the "rainbow" version, Vega does his wall scale on the background itself! Probably the greatest trick in the whole Street Fighter universe! rclxm9.gif
