 3ROD exchange procedure, Claiming directly in Singapore

Hi all,

As some of you have heard, I've finally been hit by 3ROD. My console successfully boots periodically and I can still navigate the dashboard and watch dvd's, but any time I utilize the gpu, i.e playing a game, the screen freezes, and when i reboot, there's the 3 flashing red lights. I've heard about some of you going to Singapore directly and exchanging your 360's at the microsoft center there, so I was wondering if anyone could clue me in on the procedures as to what i need to do, who i need to call, where to go, etc... Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

If im not mistaken you got to register your console on Xbox.com first, then you will get a reference number...

but the biggest problem is to finding a personal contact in Singapore...unless you are planning to go on a 5 hour trip...

Thanks, so when i register at xbox.com, do i need to fill in a phony SG adress? And yeah, i'll be heading there for a couple of days later this month.

yeah you need a legit Singapore address...i think some guys found a way around that but im not sure how...

harklis i have a friend working in SG. let me know if you have registered..i will contact my friend and help you out...

but the exchange part...you have to DIY.....call me lar if u wanna know how to exchange your box...

actually not really need to register ur box..

just ask ur fren in sg with valid add and phone..
told him wat's the problem with ur console...

they will give u a record report number and date to exchange...

just claim back my 360 2 months ago....

+ u got 1 month free live

harklis the service centre in funan mall opens from 11 to 7pm on saturday and 11-5pm on sunday if imm not mistaken the last time i went there

Better call support center quickly after you have registered and have valid Singapore address.

I've been reading this thread..but still clueless as to how to claim warranty...

I've relative in singapore..that should take care of the singapore address thingy.

now can anyone explain again step by step, how to go about claiming warranty from Sg repair centre ?

I've to register? I've to bring the console to Funan Mall..and then what happen ?

i thought Gamer's Hideout can courier your 360 to Singapore to claim warranty? THat's what i hear anyway... Can anyone who has done this explain what actually GH does? Thanks

Yes they can , under 2 condition

1. You bought the box from them and have receipt
2. You pay rm250 for them as shipping fees , they gao tim for u .
3. You wait ... ( ok make it 3 condition )

Hehe, My name starts with J, my dad's name also starts with J. So, J squared, Kinda lame i know, like Fred Flinstone or something smile.gif but it works.

BTW, I also called up Gamer's Solution and that Bernard chap told me also pretty much the same as GH, buy from them, have to have receipt, and he said have to wait around 6 months yawn.gif if the do it for you, 1 week if you do it yourself.

just wanted to enquire, i've been searching online about the warranty,
and i just have to ask, how do Microsoft Singapore know how long you have purchased your xbox 360 for? the microsoft website said from the receipt of sale. But from what i read in this thread, it seems we are trying to imply to the singapore microsoft staff that we are actually from singapore (i.e. the singapore phone and address).

In this case if we show the receipt (that shows Kuala Lumpur) is it still viable for the 3 year (3 red lights problem) warranty?

I'm have myself to blame for not fully researching about xbox 360 b4 i purchased it, believe it or not i had no idea about the 3rod when i bought it in 4th quarter 2006. bought it from Mega Mall IT center and when i asked about any form of warranty or guarantee when i purchased it the guy replied no such thing in malaysia. If i had know i was buying a ticking bomb i would have most certainly considered again. A few months later i only read about gamers hideout in the newspapers. sad.gif was too late

They wont ask for it because Date of Purchase is based on Serial number. You will prob need it when you appeal for the warranty (prob towards the end of the 3 years warranty).

I gave my xbox Without hdd or receipt to my sg fren who do not know any thing about xbox and he managed to get it done for me smile.gif

I will have a Japanese Xbox 360 Core, all original but lacks receipt. If I experienced 3rod can I exhange it at Microsoft Singapore? Tried calling their toll free number but can't get through..
