I thought the way in which the fight scenes in the original movie was just too fast and hopefully, it will be much slower in the sequel.

TF2 Teaser Trailer in November??

QUOTE
According to a report on AICN from a London press screening of Paramount's 2009 slate of movies, Transformers 2 trailer will premiere in November along with a new trailer for Star Trek. What movie it will be attached to was not mentioned (but I assume Quantum of Solace on November 14th). Thanks to beckwith for the link.

Update: Reading through the comments it seems my choice of phrasing was confusing. The relevant part from AICN is "Seems a lot of major trailers will be coming out in November and star trek will have the Transformers 2 full trailer before it." Now my interpretation of that is a Transformers 2 trailer and a Star Trek trailer will be released in November together.

Another update: It appears that now sites are confirming that the trailer for Transformers will accompany the release of Star Trek on May 9th, 2009. I still like my theory that the Star Trek and Transformers 2 trailers are coming in November. Guess will find out in a few months.

Really sure no dinobots in the second movie?

A source of mine from light and magic studio said there are actual prototypes being done up for the dinobots cgi, but whether it will make it into the final movie is anybody's guess.

Can anyone confirm some shots of the movie are being shot in china?

The TFW TF2 Insider has provided another piece of information regarding a robot from the upcoming Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen movie. Arcee's robot mode is confirmed to consist of the combination of the three motorcycles seen in the On the Set: Day 1 Video at the Walmart Take Home a Hero promotional site.

TFW2005's inside source, the same that "confirmed" Devastator, is reporting that Arcee is the merge of three separate motor bikes. The pink, purple and blue bikes where custom made by RetroSBK for the movie. Its a theory that has been with the movie from nearly day one due to the call sheets and the three nearly identically dressed biker babes seen in Bethlehem. As usual, time will tell on how accurate this source is.

I hope this Arcee combiner info is not part of Bay's misformation crap. A bike TF is just too small....wont do a Season 3 G1 regular Autobot like Arcee any justice. 3 bikes, each with different color, now thats more like it. icon_rolleyes.gif

Universal boards 'Transformers' ride
New attraction to hit theme parks in 2011

user posted image

The Transformers are taking shape at Universal’s theme parks.
Universal Parks & Resorts has paired up with Hasbro and DreamWorks Pictures to produce a “Transformers” attraction at its parks in Hollywood and Singapore set to open in early 2011.

Ride will use 3-D HD footage with special effects, robotics and track to place humans in the middle of a war between the friendly Autobots and evil Decepticons, who can turn into cars, trucks, planes and other vehicles.

U declined to disclose just how much it will spend to produce the attraction, but company spent around $40 million to build “The Simpsons Ride,” which opened over the summer at its parks. “Transformers” could come with a higher pricetag.

The attraction will first open at Universal Studios Singapore, to be based at the multibillion-dollar Resorts World at Sentosa, before bowing in Hollywood. The Sentosa resort is skedded to open in 2010.

“Transformers” will replace the “Backdraft” attraction and special effects soundstages on the lower portion of U’s Hollywood park. Construction begins after Labor Day.

“ ‘Transformers’ was introduced in the United States in 1983 but traces its roots to Asia,” said Tan Hee Teck, CEO of Resorts World at Sentosa. “Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Megatron are familiar names to Asian audiences, who grew up with the robot toys and love the movie.”

Deal continues U’s long relationship with Steven Spielberg, who serves as a creative consultant to the theme park division, and has helped develop “Jurassic Park: The Ride,” the “E.T. Adventure,” “Jaws” and “War of the Worlds” attractions.

It also expands U’s deal with Hasbro to turn the company’s toy brands into pics.

Landing “Transformers” should prove a coup for U, given that theme parks are dependent upon new attractions to lure visitors. Company’s “Simpsons Ride” this summer helped boost biz when congloms were worried that guests would stay home due to high gas prices and the souring economy.

U also teamed up with Warner Bros. to create a Harry Potter-themed environment set to open at Universal Orlando in 2010, which should also keep ticket sales humming.

Spielberg exec produced 2007’s “Transformers,” which earned $708 million worldwide, and is doing the same on the sequel, which Paramount will release June 26, with Michael Bay once again at the helm.

Transformers: the Ride

Mayhem maestro Michael Bay delivers his second helping of clashing robots and collateral damage next year with TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN, but that definitely won't be the end of the battle between the Autobots and the Decepticons.

In fact, you'll get to be a part of it yourself. No, not by re-enacting the big-screen brawling with your action figures (which you can still do), but by traveling to Universal Studios. In 2011, the theme park will launch a brand new attraction featuring "3-D HD footage with special effects, robotics and track to place humans in the middle of a war between the friendly Autobots and evil Decepticons." It'll be a pleasure to meet you, Mr. Prime!

If you're overseas, you'll get to experience it even sooner -- the TRANSFORMERS ride is expected to open along with Universal's new Singapore park in 2010.

Extra Tidbit: Universal will use TRANSFORMERS to replace the BACKDRAFT attraction, which must be pretty well charred by now. You check that door for heat, Tim?

Movie Leaks.....Believe It Or Not?

QUOTE
Friday, October 17th, 2008 12:23PM CDT

Seibertron.com has once again received some new information regarding "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen", currently scheduled for release on June 26th 2009. Our source wishes to remain anonymous but is reliable.

Please be warned that this information contains many huge spoilers. If you do not want to be spoiled, do not read any further.

- As mentioned before, Soundwave's alternate mode is a satellite. Our source, however, cannot personally confirm the other reported rumour of Soundwave also turning into a pickup truck.

- Our source confirms the recently reported rumour that Optimus Prime will combine with Jetfire.

- Ravage uses biological warfare against the humans.

- Jetfire can create wormholes.

- Scorpinok will return.

- Our source does not know if the three "Arcee" motorbikes seen in the Wal-Mart exclusive video combine to form Arcee or not - but our source does tell us that the Arcee bikes have not been on set for months, leading to speculation that the character may die early on in the film. CLARIFICATION: Many fans are assuming this could be misleading because the movie is filmed out-of-sequence. While this may be true for most movies, The action scenes for "Revenge of the Fallen" have, for the most part, been filmed in chronological order. The first was filmed in Bethlehem, PA (confirmed by "The Morning Call" - Bethlehem newspaper) and the film's climactic sequence filmed recently at White Sands (confirmed by our source and other on-set reports)

Ryan,

Couple more tidbits while I can....

Arcee doesn't die in the movie, she just doesn't show up until later on, and spends much of her time as a robot.

The movie was not shot in sequence, everyone seems to think that the stuff being shot now is the end of the movie ... Only Bay knows for sure!

Only one character combines with another Autobot to make a bigger robot ...

The Constructicon is 9 vehicles together but will only make a brief appearance.

Scorponok is back in force, and he swims down and uses his interal "spark" to refire ONE of the Decepticons ... Who, Im not tellin' ...

More as I get it! Shhhhhh

Transformers 2 Goes To The City Of Lights

QUOTE
According to a poster on the Michael Bay forums, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen production has moved from Egypt to Paris, France.

user posted image

Forget the Middle East, he's in France right now...

... in Paris, more specifically.

And this is what he was shooting: L'Arc de triomphe.

Now that was weird... I was walking home from work, and just happen to see a small group of people around a camera... When I got closer, I saw that Bay was riding it (literally). The last thing I would have expected is to see Bay shooting in my neighbor.

The scene was about a news anchor from CNN doing a report... It feels like main photography is getting closer to the end.

Producer Ian Bryce was here as well.

NOTE: this is a stock photo of L'Arc de Triomphe, but from where Bay was shooting it, you will probably get the same angle, with the actor standing in front of the camera.

While this could be fake, it seems more likely that Bay and company are in France to film exteriors and other scenes they need to match the "Paris, France" footage that was shot on Chancellor Street in Philadelphia, PA back in June involving Sam's parents. Thanks to Michael for the heads-up.

Alice Is A Pretender?

QUOTE
The TFW TF2 Insider has confirmed that the character of Alice, as played by Isabel Lucas, in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, is a Pretender. For those not familiar with Transformers sub-lines from the 1980s, Pretenders are Transformers that are hidden inside a shell that acts as their disguise. In the case of Alice, the shell will be an attractive human woman while the inner robot is best described as a hybrid of the Frenzy robot design from the first movie. The Pretender Transformer will have an arm that transforms into an energy weapon, a long tongue, and a scanning tentacle.

Filming Completed!

QUOTE
From Bay's official blog:

Nelson here..

As of this week, principal photography for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen has ended.

Congrats to Michael and his team.
It probably ended around the same time that Shia was spotted at LAX so October 27th or 28th. Now begins the editing of the film together, finalizing of FX work for scenes, working on the music, sound effects and casting of the Transformer voices. Thanks to Rich for the heads-up.

To echo the above, congratulations to Michael and the cast and crew of Transformers 2. Also a big thanks from me to all the site readers for the information they provided and keeping me (and therefore everyone else) up to date on the movie production.

There is still a lot of work for Bay and company to do (including getting that teaser trailer together) so still plenty to post about in the future.
