the main rival is O2 Flame, and Dopod 900 (old model), Yup Eten is alot better (in terms of specs & prices) 

sean133, what's your experience and comment for viewing rmvb format movie with the X800?

unistall all the unnecessary program that come bundle in the rom will free up your ram and increase your pda speed a lot...i really meant it a lot!!

sorry sean... lately damn busy due to i'm in a logistics field which now is my most busy period due to CNYE festival.... but any thing regarding this x800 that you want to ask me is ok due to i'm almost dismantle it already..haha.. just kidding...

until now...that is impossible to view RMVB files in any PPC... only RM file is playable.... correct me if wrong...hehe

after so long... x800 owners, hows the unit? i wanna know any significant problems before pursuing to buy one unit to play around...

Hope that it will drop in the coming PC fair, although I like the VGA but anyone can clarify with me regarding the warranty issue? If anything happen need to send back to Taiwan right? No service centre in Malaysia?

I think you will change your statement if you got visited ETEN forum and update to the latest rom version. please google for it.

OS Bugs fixing and new feature:

X800 OS update notification:
Required files:
1. EUU_X800_XXX_A42_040_0454_XP.EXE (XXX stand for language version)
or
EUU_X800_XXX_A42_040_0454_Vista.EXE
2. ModemUpdater_FC3301_CL.zip (This is update file for 3G firmware)
Update procedure:
Please update X800 OS version 454 first, then update 3G Firmware Update
Normal operation items:
OS Update:
Make sure use PC with XP system (better with service pack2) or Vista for
OS updating.

Disable all kind of firewall before OS updating.

Be sure your PC or laptop already installed ActiveSync 4.5 or above version

Connect X800 and your PC via USB cable and be sure the ActiveSync is
activated with GREEN sign.
 If Activesync is hard to connect, you can go start/setting/connection/
USB to PC and disable the "advanced network functionality", then
Activesync would be easily connecting.

Please backup all necessary data on PC side before OS updating process.

Be sure the power adapter is properly connection during the updating
process.

Run EUU file and following the instructions show on screen to complete
OS updating.
3G Firmware Update

Extract the file "ModemUpdater_FC3301_CL.zip"

Copy ModemUpdater_FC3301_CL.exe to your X800

Double click ModemUpdater_FC3301_CL.exe

Follow on-screen instruction to complete the update.

Reset X800.

Go to Start > Settings > System > System Information > Wireless Module >
GSM/GPRS > Firmware Version The correct version should be
R3BEC31ACL_V1.01CL

If the above version is incorrect, please repeat the above steps to update
again.

if you want for video call then go for x800, if not necessary for you then go for x650. both is almost the same from the spec.
