not find anywhere in there that the 9600gt on par with 8800gt 512......but it did pawn 8800gt 256

Neck to neck doesn't mean all the same result from all test and benchies perform. Some test and benchies goes to 96gt and some test/ games goes to 88gt.

Note: 88gt here refer to 8800gt 512mb version

Well, since the launch of the 9600GT, price of the 3870 has decrease as well. IIANM, the RM5XX price is only available here at LYN. At LYP(at least in term of pricelist), they are somehow near the price of the HD3870.

lets wait AMD HD3870 price cut again btw, 9600GT really effect the HD3870 market , do you think that

LOL..News about price cut for the HD3870 was circling all around the web right before the release of the 9600GT (or at the same time). So, i do feel there is something to do with it.

for higher resolution gamep play above 1280X1024 sure pawn the 8800GT 256... difference in memory.

coz the price that 9600GT comes can well effect the power of the 3870.... at the same price range if i might say

Just got a XFX 9600gt 512 ddr3 XT (some error in seller ) edition. Will post 3dmark score later =)

what is the main different between the 9600GT and the 8800GT? if both doesn't have major diff,then maybe better stick to 8800GT...mmm...but 9600GT price is tempting ma...lolz..

Well, for one, there is still no sufficient information/review that state that the 9600GT will be better than the 8800GT. Therefore, the advantage is still in the 8800GT side. For people who already own the 8800GT, they do not need to worry about 9600GT in the first place.
