After i saw 9600 GT results, I really thought 9800 GX 2 or GTX is going to be the king again. cry.gif But, it was really dissapointing.

You guys have been warned long ago not to expect much from GeForce 9 series. We knew all along that the 8800GT and 8800GTS (G92 - which was developed for GF9s) were released just to slow the sales of AMD's HD38xx series. So, don't expect much from it. NVIDIA might as well labelled the 8800GT/GTS as 9800GT/GTS (or GTS and GTX). Their secondary strategy to slow AMD's sales worked. The primary strategy to release the entire GF9s faced lots of problems due to expectation.

In any case, if the 9800GTX is really released at RM13xx (previous 8800GTS price) then it may prove a worthy buy for those who don't dare to OC their 8800GTS (G92). Let's see how thing goes next week.

NVIDIA has updated the GeForce 9 series roadmap and with it we can see not only the addition of the GeForce 9500 series, but also that GeForce 9800GX2 remains set for March 11. We've also found out that the highly anticipated GeForce 9800GT is slated for April 3. Before that, GeForce 9800GTX should arrive at the end of March. All GeForce 9 launches are scattered throughout Spring, and later in May, GeForce 9600GS will appear. GeForce 9500GT will surface in June, while the 9500GS should arrive one month after that.

Card Core Launch Price
GeForce 9800GX2 G92-450 March 11 <$599*
GeForce 9800GTX G92-420* Late March <$399*
GeForce 9800GT G92-x April 3 <$299*
GeForce 9600GT G94-300 Launched $179
GeForce 9600GS G94-x May -
GeForce 9500GT G96-300 June -
GeForce 9500GS G96-x July -

8 series G92 and 9800 series uses the same driver smile.gif as long is G92 drivers ~~ but not 9800GX2 coz dual GPU config. 9800GTX require a new driver for Tri-Sli set up thats why Nvidia delayed GTX launch date to 1st of April due to this issue laugh.gif
