Hi Guys, sorry i'm abit noob in video playback for x360.

I would like to ask does stream video from your PC to X360 means

1. the X360's processor processes the video content from your PC and display them to your TV, or

2. the PC processor processes the video content inside your PC and the X360 just pull the picture to your TV?

I've got couple of H.264 and other high bitrate videos in my harddisk that I can't play due to the limitation of my old PC processor.

need help here

it turns out on my side that some of my divx files play and others don't. i found that strange because the videos i'm trying to view were all released by the same group of people, so i doubt they'd encode all episodes differently.

double checked the audio and video compression formats but all the files are encoded the same

some files play perfectly, others get the "not supported" pop up

any idea why?

i'm just using WMP11

yup. i got same problem with my standalone divx dvd player..although from the same release group, but got some movies got a bad rip. sweat.gif

nope, no MKV files... technically the 360 support the codecs for those 720p episodes, but it just doesnt recognize the MKV container, so no luck there..

Tested, but the quality is suck if you play it in 1920 x 1200 compare to my desktop PC. FYI. I test 720p avi files. it better on my PC!

yes, noticed that too. im using component@720p for both XB360 and XBMC, seems to me that XBMC has better divx/xvid playback quality... well i was comparing 540p files, the few 720p files i hv are MKVs. too bad the quality is not that good, im looking forward for the 360 to playback 720p/1080p files, my XBMC chokes on 720p files.

would it help if we buy from an NTSC/J region account, like Singapore or Japan?

apple lossless files use the same .m4a extension as AAC files, but actually it's not a variant of the AAC format. it's another format: ALAC (apple lossless audio codec), so i dont think the 360 could play it.
