Is just my personal preferences always not to use built in flash whenever possible. No light source..then is time test your Camera Iso quality and play with shuttle speed & train ur steady hand. hehehe

congratulation on ur new D40  rclxms.gif
as for ur photo, clearly it is shot using built in flash, which according to clivengu is a nono.

therefore...POISON #1: SB-400  brows.gif can bounce d light to create soft light

okay, noted. after stepping into DSLR world..
i have a bad feeling about my wallet cry.gif

shiney...
the dragon's pic...
direct flash too harsh...=)..
as u can c...
onlyt he front part is lighted...
so...
u need something to bounce or diffuse ur flash...
for the time being....y not try putting a white a4 paper in front of ur flash...
that shud soften the light while waitng for ur SB-800! hehehehe...

for the flowers...it's a wee bit underexposed to me...i think...
sorry didnt calibrate my monitor...
it's best if u juz focus the flower instead of including the leaves beside it...and also the top part of the flower....shud have cropped it out...
second flower...u also noticed...not sure where's ur focus point though...

for the silhoutte pics...if u could...
use a tripod and remote shutter or delay...will reducs the blur...

=)
pracetive makes perfect bro...
hope u dun get offended by wat i comment...
*
thanks bro, smile.gif im still learning, i dont mind at all laugh.gif

owh, aiyoooo. dont say that lahhhhhh xD,
okay bro thanks.

lol, i thought the flowers are overexposed.
ok bro, thanks biggrin.gif

ok, thank you!

You using closest area or single area AF? Try using single area and sticking to the center AF point, use focus lock and recompose if you want to shift the focus point to another part of the frame.

whats that rclxub.gif

1. MCL probably needs a bit more depth? I think it blurred at "M", would have been nice if M was clear as well.

2. The hibiscus looks out of focus. The idea was good though, the red stood out.

3. How come ada flare at ur model face? tongue.gif added during post process?

The photos were vibrant in colours which was nice. No shots of the classroom? Like some chalk on the board, last words that the teacher wrote on the whiteboard... your desk?
*
1. yeah its hard to get it right, almost of the 3 shots. this was the sharpest lol.
2. yup, noticed that too, this is the nicest, the other was overexposed ( i cant blame the sunny day. blame the photographer tongue.gif )
3. Nop, thats original. come back home.. uiks! got nice flare. tongue.gif

i like colors, today was the last Art exam, its was on the hall. which i dont take today
and its off limit. my class room was at the highest floor.. too lazy tongue.gif
