when playing mp3, my foobar used 6-15% of CPU usage, i cant figure what causing the problem, by the way i am using
-noise sharpening
-channel mixer
-advanced limiter
-resample(SSRC)
** this occur randomly but not always.

when playing .flac song, foobar sure using 7-8% of CPU usage, is that normal?
edit:
thankz acedriver.

Try putting your dsp in this order:
- resampler (SSRC)
- channel mixer
- noise sharpening
- advanced limiter

This should lower the CPU usage a little if not much.

putting at the top mean have more priority than others to get CPU usage.. isnt? or i had misunderstood.

it still uses more CPU cause of resampling.. if it's not important, don't use it..

oicicic: Did you try it ? I'm just suggesting the order of the DSPs based on the FAQ. If still like that, then it's best not to use the resampler at all. sweat.gif

Err, one thing foobar made my system (integrated soundcard, dell speakers) do was making my ears hurt sleep.gif all the high-pitched notes hurt my ears when I played them with foobar.

Btw, winamp in classic mode uses less than 2mb in terms of mem usage. Foobar uses at least 2k, or even more when you activate the fancy stuff sleep.gif

I wondering if I can enable Kernel Streaming with Chaintech Av-710 VIA Envy 24PT sound card.

I tried to enable it but XP SP2 threw me a blue screen.

In foobar, under Kernel Streaming tab, it said "optimal resolution is 32 bits per sample".

Previously I can run it prefectly with my built in, Realteck AC97 ALC650 sound card.

Help anybody?

try this:

output set to 24-bit padded to 32 bit or plain 32 bit (need to enable Show all option)
dither with strong ath noise shaping (optional)

Thank you, acedriver. It works now.

What's the latest version of the driver from Chaintech or VIA? Any modded driver?

is there a way to send a song (that is currently playing) to a seperate playlist, by using a global shortcut key?

say for example I've got 2 playlists. 1 contains all my mp3s. The other is an empty playlist. As I'm listening to mp3s in the first playlist, I come across a song that I wanna hear again, so I press a shortcut key to send it automatically to the empty playlist. Possible?

Another beta of foobar 0.9, this time it's 13.

You can get it from here

Components for beta 12 or older no longer work with beta 13. The installer will remove already installed components.

Some components are not or no longer bundled with the installer; see the beta components page for details.

here's a modified album art component with support for fading effect (try 500 miliseconds) smile.gif

http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index....showtopic=39924

recently updated to fixed cover fading from the old album art to the current one when you open foobar2000 from system tray
